On April 10-11, the Vietnam Youth Union of Bat Xat district held the 6th Congress of Delegates, term 2024-2029.
Bat Xat district is the unit selected by the Provincial Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union to direct the organization of the district-level model congress of the province.
On behalf of Lao Cai province, attending the congress were comrades: Hoang Giang, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Giang Thi Dung, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Board, the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Board; Standing Committee of the Provincial Youth Union, the Vietnam Youth Union of Lao Cai province; Standing Committee of Bat Xat District Party Committee; and 139 delegates representing more than 15,000 members in Bat Xat district.
On behalf of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union, attending the congress were comrades: Nguyen Kim Quy, member of the Central Committee of the Youth Union, Head of the Youth Solidarity Committee, Permanent Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union; Le Duy Hung, member of the Central Committee of the Youth Union, member of the Central Presidium, Chief of the Central Office of the Vietnam Youth Union.
The 6th Congress of the Vietnam Youth Union of Bat Xat district, term 2024 - 2029, has the theme: "Shocking - creative - volunteer - integration and development".
During the past term, with the attention, direction and facilitation of the Vietnam Youth Union of the province, the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee, the People's Council, the District People's Committee and the close coordination of the district's departments, branches and unions, with the spirit of initiative, creativity and sense of responsibility, the work of the Union and the district's youth movement had many positive changes.
The spirit of solidarity, creativity and volunteerism of the youth in the past term has been implemented synchronously and comprehensively by the Association at all levels. The results of the Association's work and the youth movement have both met and exceeded the targets set by the Resolution of the 5th Congress. In the 2019 - 2024 term, 9/11 targets were exceeded and 2/11 targets were achieved.
The Association's branches at all levels have constantly innovated their methods of operation, paying attention to the legitimate interests of members and young people. The work of building grassroots organizations of the Association and the activities of the Vietnam Youth Union of the district have made strong progress in terms of organization, the work of uniting and gathering young people has been strengthened and expanded among young people in diverse forms; the prestige of the Association has been enhanced. During the term, 5,349 members were admitted; the rate of uniting and gathering young people reached 77.2%.
The Association's movements and activities have been widely deployed and achieved positive results. The volunteer spirit of members and young people has been enhanced, which is an important premise to continue building a strong Association and expanding the solidarity front to gather young people.
During the last term, the association organized 45 district-level volunteer campaigns and 398 grassroots volunteer campaigns, attracting more than 18,000 members and young people to participate. Registered to deploy and implement youth projects and tasks with 38 district-level youth projects, 121 grassroots projects and 228 youth tasks. Mobilized resources, presented more than 7,300 gifts to poor households and students in especially difficult circumstances; presented 316 gifts to policy families and meritorious people...
Along with that, the association at all levels mobilized 2,763 members and young people to participate in the humanitarian blood donation festival, thereby donating 2,158 units of blood and coordinating with the Red Cross to establish a Live Blood Bank Club. Coordinated the organization of 12 volunteer activities to examine, provide free medicine and give gifts to more than 3,600 people, with a total value of more than 2.1 billion VND. Association chapters at all levels in the district actively organized and mobilized members and young people to participate in volunteer activities to join hands in building new rural areas.
The 6th Congress of the Vietnam Youth Union of Bat Xat district, term 2024 - 2029, set out 15 targets.
Notably, during the term, 100% of the commune-level Vietnam Youth Unions have propaganda models to prevent early marriage and incestuous marriage; career counseling for 7,000 young people; 60% of young people have access to digital capacity building activities. Every year, the district Vietnam Youth Union supports at least 1 start-up project for young people. Strive to reduce the poverty rate among young people in the district by at least 15% by the end of the term; the average income of young people increases by 10 - 15%. Strive to support and help at least 30 young households escape poverty with addresses...
The Congress consulted the Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union of Bat Xat district, term VI, 2024 - 2029, including 28 members, and consulted Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hung, Vice President of the Vietnam Youth Union of Bat Xat district, term V, to hold the position of President of the Vietnam Youth Union of Bat Xat district, term VI, 2024 - 2029.
Next, the congress consulted and selected a list of delegates to attend the 6th Provincial Congress of the Vietnam Youth Union, term 2024 - 2029, including 21 official delegates and 2 alternate delegates.
At the congress, collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in the Association's work and youth movements in the period 2019 - 2024 were rewarded.
Immediately after the congress, the Vietnam Youth Union of the province held a meeting to evaluate and draw experience from the organization of the Vietnam Youth Union congress at the district level, term 2024 - 2029.
