Tan Tai is still working hard
On December 29, 2024, in the second leg of the AFF Cup 2024 semi-final between Vietnam and Singapore, Tan Tai suffered a torn ligament injury in his right knee. On January 14, 2025, he underwent surgery at Van Hanh Hospital (HCMC). After that, the right-back born in 1997 stayed in the hospital for 3 days for monitoring and then returned to his relatives' house in HCMC for rehabilitation. On January 24, he returned to his hometown of Hoai An (Binh Dinh) to enjoy the Lunar New Year holiday with his family.
In an interview with Thanh Nien Newspaper on the afternoon of January 28 (29th of Tet), Tan Tai shared: "The weather in my hometown is colder than in Ho Chi Minh City, so my feet are quite cold. I haven't been able to sleep deeply in the past few days because my feet are still a bit sore and not really comfortable."
He added: "However, things are much better now. After the surgery, my legs almost lost all muscle and could not stretch. But now, the muscles are gradually recovering. I regularly practice stretching exercises to keep my legs from getting stiff. Every day, I practice until my legs are tired, then I apply ice, recover, rest, and then practice again. Only then will my legs be strong enough to enter the more important recovery phase, which will take place after Tet."
See you on the field soon
On the 6th day of Tet, Tan Tai will move to Ho Chi Minh City to practice rehabilitation at the RTD Rehab Center of Vietnam team doctor Tran Huy Tho. WAG Pham Thi Hieu and her son Tiger will also accompany the defender born in 1997 on this arduous journey. This will be the motivation and support for Tan Tai to come back stronger.
Tan Tai shared: "In the coming time, I will focus all my efforts on the recovery process. After I am really stable, I will return to practice with Binh Duong Club. I have also asked for permission from head coach Nguyen Cong Manh and he agreed. The road ahead will be a difficult one, but I am confident that I will come back strong to be able to soon contribute to Binh Duong Club as well as the Vietnam national team."
Doctor Tran Huy Tho also added about Tan Tai's condition: "After monitoring, Tai's injury is now stable. The stitches have been removed, he can bend and stretch well and walk stably. I think Tai will return to practice with the team in 6-8 months. Currently, I have also prepared very detailed lesson plans and exercises to help Tai recover as quickly as possible and regain his form as soon as possible. Tai has a good physique, so I hope that the recovery process will go smoothly and favorably."
