Nguyen Xuan Son once received attention from a club in Saudi Arabia. This team sent a valuable offer to the 1997-born striker's home club, Nam Dinh, but the current V.League champion refused. The leadership of the Nam Dinh club has just confirmed this information.
"They offered us more than three million dollars but the chairman said no. He kept Xuan Son to contribute to Nam Dinh club and then naturalized him so he could serve the Vietnamese national team when needed," Nam Dinh club CEO Nguyen Quoc Phong shared.
Xuan Son received attention from many foreign football teams.
A representative of Nam Dinh Club also said that two K-League (South Korea) teams, through Vietnam national team head coach Kim Sang-sik, expressed their desire to recruit Nguyen Xuan Son. However, the 27-year-old striker recently announced that he is only focusing on his recovery and wants to stay with the team in the South for a long time.
"I have made a choice to spend my entire career with Mr. Thien," Nguyen Xuan Son revealed. The Mr. Thien that the striker born in 1997 mentioned is Mr. Nguyen Van Thien, the business owner who sponsored the Nam Dinh club where Xuan Son played during the best period of his career.
