Comrade Hoang Van Thanh, Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Lang Chanh district presented 5 sets of computers to Sam To district.

At the conference, the two sides informed each other about the socio-economic development, national defense and security situation between Lang Chanh and Sam To districts in recent times, and reported on the results of the implementation of the memorandum of understanding on socio-economic cooperation, national defense and security for the 2022-2024 period.

The two districts also signed a Cooperation Agreement for the period of 2024-2026 with the goal of continuing to consolidate and strengthen the traditional friendship and cooperation between Lang Chanh district and Sam To district, contributing to consolidating and enhancing the development of the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam - Laos, Thanh Hoa - Hua Phan, Lang Chanh - Sam To increasingly going into depth, practicality and effectiveness in all fields. In particular, focusing on political and foreign affairs cooperation; cooperation in the fields of economy, health, culture, national defense - security and tourism, cooperation on the program of forest protection coordination, forest fire prevention and fighting in the border area between the two districts...

In the agreement, Sam To district also requested Lang Chanh district to support the construction of a police headquarters in Can village, train officials and people of Sam To district on the application of science and technology in agricultural and forestry production to improve crop productivity, support funding, renovate and upgrade the Friendship Park of Sam To district to create a highlight to show the close and intimate feelings between the two districts, especially the brotherly affection that Lang Chanh district has for Sam To district will be deeply engraved in the generations of officials, people and youth of the two districts.

The two sides also focused on discussing and carefully discussing the contents of the memorandum of understanding on cooperation, reaching a common consensus... And successfully signed the cooperation program for the period 2024-2026.

Leaders of both sides and departments also presented meaningful and practical gifts, expressing brotherly affection, sharing and supporting each other in work and life.

It is known that Sam To district is 144km from the center of Hua Phan province, bordering 4 districts of Vietnam: Lang Chanh, Thuong Xuan, Quan Son (Thanh Hoa province) and Que Phong district (Nghe An province). The district has an area of ​​2,041.85km2, 90 villages divided into 13 clusters. The population in the district is mainly Lao Lum, Thai, Mong, Cum Mu and Phong ethnic groups, with 6,740 households/40,239 people. The main economy is cultivation, animal husbandry, small-scale industry, services and tourism, the total average income per capita reaches over 7 million 500 kip/person/year, the poverty rate accounts for 74.09%.
