The success of major events has contributed to spreading the image and position of Quang Ninh to domestic and international friends.

Events that “keep the heat” for the destination

In 2024, Quang Ninh faced many difficulties, especially storm No. 3 which caused severe damage to the province. Quang Ninh has steadfastly overcome difficulties, maintained stability, and developed its socio-economy, continuing to affirm its capacity to organize many national and international events. Over the past year, Quang Ninh continued to make a mark when nearly 200 unique cultural, tourism and sports programs and events were successfully organized, contributing to spreading the image and position of Quang Ninh to domestic and international friends.

In February 2024, Quang Ninh welcomed the Clipper Race 2023-2024 Round the World Yacht Team to Quang Ninh after completing the race in the 5th position and docking at Ha Long International Cruise Port to start the 6th race. This major event had the participation of hundreds of sailors and a large number of international press reporters, bringing good effects on communication, promotion, investment, tourism and connecting sustainable relationships between international partners.

During the race in Ha Long City, Quang Ninh Province organized many activities, such as: Introducing OCOP products and promoting Quang Ninh tourism; visiting boats, Ha Long Bay; performing arts activities; conferences to promote, advertise and attract investment in tourism associated with the award ceremony of the race and the restart ceremony of the race associated with the parade of racing boats at sea...

According to Clipper Race statistics, at each race, each racing boat and port of arrival received nearly 6,000 online press posts, 500 radio news and more than 1,000 paper publications, more than 2,000 posts on social networks and transmitted information to 165 countries around the world. It is a great opportunity to bring the image of the land, people, and cultural beauty of Quang Ninh, Vietnam to international friends; an opportunity for Quang Ninh to promote and attract investment, especially projects in services and tourism... Captain Henry Hallatt (Qingdao racing team) excitedly said: The facilities of Ha Long International Passenger Port, Vietnam are no less than the big ports we have passed through. Ha Long is so wonderful, we have learned and explored many destinations in your beautiful land... Images of Quang Ninh are kept by our team and sent to friends to see and read. We will definitely return to Quang Ninh when we have the chance.

Along with the successful organization of this special international event, the 2024 Asian Police Taekwondo Open, coordinated by the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the World Police Taekwondo Federation, will host the 2024 Asian Police Taekwondo Open for the first time in Quang Ninh, in December 2024. This event attracts more than 2,000 delegates including officials, referees, coaches, and athletes from 19 countries and territories in Asia and outside Asia, contributing to creating a new playground for Taekwondo for law enforcement forces in Asian countries and territories; spreading the value of the martial art originating from Korea, which has been recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) as an official sport of the Summer Olympics. At the same time, promote cooperation in all aspects between security organizations and police of countries for a peaceful, secure and safe world.

The 2024 Asian Police Taekwondo Open Championship with the slogan "The Power of Police! Taekwondo Police - Protectors of Global Citizens" was a great success. The event deeply demonstrated the solidarity, close and effective cooperation between law enforcement agencies of countries to protect the peaceful life of the people, for peace for all mankind. Thereby, continuing to affirm that Vietnam is always ready to be a friend, a reliable partner and an active, responsible member of the international community, always striving to increase contributions to maintaining peace and stability in the region and the world... Athlete Dhiva Rahmani Sonjya, Indonesian Taekwondo Delegation, during the competition days in Quang Ninh, shared: "Quang Ninh has successfully organized many major events. I am very happy to be held in Quang Ninh for the 2024 Asian Police Taekwondo Open Championship. The Malaysian team will meet the Nepalese team in the qualifying round of the Asia-Pacific Robot Contest (ABU Robocon) 2024, held in Ha Long City in August 2024.

Along with the above events, in the past year, Quang Ninh was also chosen to organize many other major cultural, educational, scientific and creative activities and events, such as: Asia-Pacific Robot Competition (ABU Robocon); Vietnam International Digital Week 2024; National Vocational Education Teachers' Conference 2024; Superfest Music Festival...

Successfully organizing many major events of national and international scale has affirmed the capacity and attractiveness of Quang Ninh. This is also an important result contributing to realizing the goal of welcoming 19 million visitors in 2024, of which international visitors will be over 3.8 million, an increase of nearly 80% compared to 2023.

Spreading the image of Quang Ninh to the world

In particular, Quang Ninh maintains foreign relations and cooperation with many provinces and cities in countries with many similarities in economy, historical traditions, culture with Quang Ninh, such as: Laos, China, Japan, Korea...

My friends really love the natural landscape of Vietnam, including Ha Long Bay, mountains, hills, and dishes of Quang Ninh. In particular, as a neighboring country with a long land and sea border adjacent to Quang Ninh, closely following the direction of the central government, Quang Ninh province has had many foreign affairs activities, maintaining bilateral relations with a number of provinces and cities of China, including Guangxi and Fujian provinces.
