On December 28, Mr. Y Wem Hwing, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Cu M'gar District (Dak Lak), said that he had not received any information about a teacher in the area beating a student. He said he would ask the Department of Education and Training of Cu M'gar District to report immediately.
Meanwhile, a leader of the Department of Education and Training of Cu M'gar District said he is waiting for the school's report to fully understand the teacher beating the student and have direction.
Previously, at Le Hong Phong Secondary School (Cu Sue Commune, Cu M'gar District), there was an incident where teacher NQV (teaching physical education) beat student Y SW (class 8C).
Le Hong Phong Secondary School, where the incident of a teacher beating a student occurred
According to Mr. Dinh Van Vinh, Principal of Le Hong Phong Secondary School, the incident happened on Saturday morning, December 23. At that time, the school was in a council meeting, class 8C was in disorder, stemming from student Y SW demanding 30,000 VND that a disabled student in class 9B owed 3 months ago.
While demanding money, Y SW hugged this student and intended to hit him. Teacher V. ran over to stop him, used a whip to swing it a few times but unfortunately hit Y SW.
However, in front of her family, Y SW recounted the whole incident that teacher V. used a folded electric wire to beat her. "About 3 months ago, I lent a friend in class 9B at the same school 70,000 VND. After that, this friend gradually paid back, and by the morning of December 23, he still owed 30,000 VND. During recess, I asked for the money but he said he didn't have it yet. Seeing that he intended to run away, I hugged him. Later, I let him go so I could go buy some water; and this friend ran to tell the teacher. Teacher V. asked what happened in class, I said I was going to collect the debt from that friend. Then the teacher hit me about ten times on the body, 2-3 times on the face, causing my nose to bleed. After that, the teacher went to the council room, I called my parents but no one answered, so I asked my friends to take me home," Y SW recounted.

Mr. Y Jo Nie (Y SW's father) said that at first, the school came to his house to resolve the matter on his behalf, but his family did not agree and requested that teacher V. be present. "After that, the school and teacher V. apologized to my family and my child, hoping to forget everything. I did not want to make a big deal out of it, but I asked the school to review teacher V.", said Mr. Y Jo Nie.
Sharing with the press, teacher V. said he was aware of his actions. "That day, the school was having a council meeting but class 8C was very disorderly. Two teachers took turns to remind him but everything went back to normal. After the meeting, the teacher took the disabled student from class 9B to the council room. Seeing his pale face, I asked and was told that Y SW was threatening to beat him. At that time, I was angry so I used a cane to hit Y SW a few times on the buttocks. However, he turned around so he hit his chest and legs, but I did not hit his face," teacher V. explained.
This teacher thought that Y SW's nosebleed might have been caused by him rubbing his hand on it.
Mr. Dinh Van Vinh, Principal of Le Hong Phong Secondary School, added that before the school board, the person involved in the incident, teacher NQV, explained the incident of beating the student and accepted a form of self-criticism to gain profound experience.
