Panic every time I go to the toilet
In June and July, on the Van Lang confessions page, at least 5-6 female students shared situations where they were harassed to warn their friends, causing many students to panic.
Specifically, on July 7, a female student said that 2-3 weeks ago, while going to the bathroom on the 4th floor of building F, a phone was pointed at her from the ceiling.

"I was using my phone when I accidentally saw a phone on the ceiling pointing at me. I was so shocked that I looked up and the image disappeared and the person in the next room also closed the door and left. I don't know if I was secretly filmed or not," the female student recounted.
"And until today, July 7, I went to the bathroom on the 11th floor again and you know what, while I was on my phone, I saw a head coming towards me. I looked up and the person quickly asked... for paper. I said "there's paper outside, what's wrong with you?" The person panicked and quickly ran outside," the female student continued.
Another student who identified himself as a member of the LGBT community also said that on the afternoon of July 17, when he went to the men's toilet on the 5th floor at the school's second campus, someone stood on the toilet and leaned over to ask for paper. "When I said there was paper outside, the pervert continued to lean over and said 'sir, let me pass'. I was very scared and tried to bravely step outside. I really want to speak up for the safety of my friends," this student expressed.
Meanwhile, another female student encountered a situation on July 8 when she was walking alone on her daily route home from school when a male student slowed down behind her and suddenly used his hand to squeeze her chest.
"I was so surprised and scared that I froze and didn't have time to notice the license plate number or see clearly what it looked like. I posted this to hope that girls who often walk alone or even with friends will be more vigilant to protect themselves," the female student shared.
Strengthen monitoring and support readiness
Speaking to Thanh Nien Newspaper reporter, Master Dinh Xuan Toa, Director of the Student Support Center of Van Lang University, said that recently the school has received feedback from students about this issue through a number of channels, including Van Lang Confessions.
"Although the students did not report directly, the school always has a team of volunteers monitoring social media channels to promptly grasp information about activities, daily life as well as the wishes and aspirations of students. After receiving information that students were harassed while going to the toilet or while traveling in and out of school, we immediately contacted the students in the confessions group to find out. However, most of them did not want to make their real accounts public and were not willing to provide information, so it was difficult to determine whether the above stories were true or not," said Master Toa.
However, according to Master Toa, the school has increased its monitoring efforts to promptly detect such incidents if they occur. "The school always has a team of security guards and school supervisors on duty, ready to receive feedback and provide timely support. If students encounter dangerous situations, they should immediately report to the supervisor or security guard, or call the school's hotline," said Master Toa.
In addition, Mr. Toa also noted that if students come home late from school, they should go in groups or with at least one other person to be able to handle any unfortunate situations.
