Promoting high-performance sports cooperation between Vietnam and Brazil

Visiting Corinthians football club , Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized the potential for cooperation in culture and sports, especially high-performance sports, including football, between the two countries.

Founded in 1910, Corinthians is one of the leading, most successful and popular football clubs in Brazil and Latin America. The club has won many important titles, including several Brazilian championships, the Brazilian Cup, a Copa Libertadores and two FIFA Club World Cups.

At the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that many Vietnamese people know Brazil as a country with a unique Latin American culture and today it has become one of the world's major economies with a GDP of nearly 2,000 billion USD.

In particular, Vietnamese people are very passionate about football and admire Brazilian football. The Brazilian national team, nicknamed Selecao, has won the world championship many times with its attacking philosophy, beautiful playing style, and "Samba dances on the field". Brazilian football has always produced great players and Brazilian football legends such as Pele, Romario, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Rivaldo... have long been in the hearts of Vietnamese football fans.

Emphasizing that the potential for cooperation in culture, sports, especially high-performance sports, including football between the two countries is limitless, the Prime Minister said that the Vietnamese Government always pays attention to and creates favorable conditions to promote the field of physical education and sports in general and high-performance sports in particular, including football. Vietnamese football has also made many impressive and encouraging advances and achievements in recent times.

The Prime Minister suggested that Brazil and Corinthians club increase cooperation activities and support Vietnam in developing football, such as training and educating players, especially improving players' physical strength and skills, improving management capacity, developing brands, mobilizing and managing resources, organizing competitions, as well as continuing to "export" Brazilian players to Vietnam and Vietnamese players to Brazil...

The Prime Minister expressed his hope that one day, fans of the two countries and the world can witness a world championship final between Vietnam and Brazil.

Corinthians thanked the Prime Minister and the Vietnamese delegation for their affection and attention to the club, as well as Brazilian football, and agreed with the Prime Minister's suggestions. They said they would actively carry out cooperation activities and support Vietnam, thereby contributing to promoting the good relations between the two countries and the affection and understanding of the two peoples for each other.

*On the same day, local time, in Sao Paulo (Brazil) - the largest economic and financial center in South America, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh had a discussion with Brazilian businesses. The event was organized by the Ministry of Planning and Investment, the Vietnamese Embassy in Brazil and the Sao Paulo Chamber of Commerce on the occasion of the Prime Minister's official visit to Brazil.

At the meeting, the Prime Minister expressed his belief that after this official visit, the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Brazil will develop more strongly, especially in economic, trade and investment relations, which still have much room for development. The two countries have many complementary strengths, support and influence each other on a very good political foundation.
