Also attending the program was Ms. Ho Thi Thanh Truc, Vietnamese Ambassador to Sri Lanka. This was also an occasion for Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena's family to make offerings at the temple.
At the meeting, the Sri Lankan Prime Minister said he was very happy to meet the Vietnamese youth delegation and expressed that Sri Lanka wanted to promote relations with many countries in the world, including Vietnam, especially young people. Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena also thanked Ambassador Ho Thi Thanh Truc for connecting the Vietnamese youth delegation to visit and work in Sri Lanka.
The Sri Lankan Prime Minister emphasized: "We strongly support the youth in preserving culture as well as developing the relationship between the two countries. We always educate students and young people about culture and beliefs. I wish the relationship between the two countries and the youth of the two countries will continue to develop."
On behalf of the Vietnamese Youth Delegation, Mr. Tran Van Dong respectfully thanked Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena for receiving the delegation and expressed his hope that through this visit and work of the Vietnamese Youth Delegation, cooperation between the two countries and the youth of the two countries will continue to be promoted.
At the same time, Mr. Dong also expressed his hope that the Sri Lankan Government and Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena personally would pay attention to promoting people-to-people exchanges, including youth exchanges between the two countries, so that the younger generation can continue to preserve and develop the good traditional relationship between the people and youth of the two countries.
