According to Vietnamese Ambassador to China Pham Sao Mai, the Vietnamese community in China has about 43,000 people. They continue to promote the tradition of solidarity, mutual love, mutual assistance, and growing development, preserving national identity, always looking towards their homeland, actively contributing to the cause of national construction and defense, and acting as a bridge to strengthen the friendly relations between the two countries. The Vietnamese Embassy and representative agencies in China have actively coordinated with Chinese authorities to promote the concretization and implementation of cooperation agreements between the two countries.

At the meeting, representatives of the Vietnamese community in China expressed their joy at welcoming Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s official visit to China and his attendance at the 14th Annual Pioneers Meeting of the WEF; believing that the visit would contribute to consolidating and strengthening the Vietnam-China Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership; at the same time, promoting the country’s image and attracting more investment into Vietnam.

Believing in the strong development and bright future of the country, the Vietnamese community in China proposed to the Prime Minister a number of contents on citizen protection, development of the Vietnamese community in China; promoting the image of the country and Vietnamese people in China; mechanisms and policies for overseas Vietnamese to promote their capacity, contribute more to the country and to the Vietnam - China relationship; propose solutions to promote the Vietnam - China relationship, especially in the fields of trade, tourism, people-to-people exchange...

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh was moved by the sentiments, enthusiasm, responsibility, and desire to contribute to the homeland and the country of overseas Vietnamese. The Prime Minister said that during General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong's visit to China in October 2022, the two sides reviewed the bilateral relationship in the past and oriented the strategic direction of the relationship in the coming time. After the visit, the Vietnam-China relationship has clearly developed. The Vietnam-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership is maintaining its development trend and achieving many positive results. Political trust between Vietnam and China has been strengthened; economic, trade, and investment cooperation has maintained growth. This visit by the Prime Minister continues to concretize and deepen the traditional relationship of "mountains connecting mountains, rivers connecting rivers" between the two countries.

Regarding the domestic situation, the Prime Minister said that in recent years, the Covid-19 pandemic has severely affected all aspects of social life. Thanks to the drastic participation of the entire political system under the leadership and direction of the Party, the attention and assistance of international friends, including China, and the support and active participation of the people, the business community, and overseas Vietnamese, including the Vietnamese community in China, Vietnam has controlled the epidemic well, the socio-economic situation has recovered positively and achieved important and quite comprehensive results in many fields.

The macro economy is basically stable, inflation is controlled, growth is promoted, and major balances are ensured. In terms of economy alone, by the end of 2022, the size of Vietnam's economy will reach about 410 billion USD, ranking 4th in ASEAN; per capita income will increase from 100 USD to more than 4,100 USD; trade scale will be among the top 30 economies in international trade.

Regarding the overseas Vietnamese community, the Prime Minister affirmed that the Party and State always consider the overseas Vietnamese community, with more than 5.3 million people, including the Vietnamese community in China, an inseparable part of the great national unity bloc, one of the driving forces and sources of strength for the country's development.

The Prime Minister affirmed: "The Party and State always pay attention and have mechanisms and policies to support people to have full legal status, stabilize their lives, develop the economy, comply with the law and integrate smoothly with the locality."

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh was pleased and appreciated the efforts of the people in recent times to unite, promote the tradition of "mutual love", and help each other overcome many difficulties during the Covid-19 pandemic. In particular, with the spirit of "remembering the source of water", always looking back to the origin and homeland, the people have actively contributed to the country, especially in disease prevention and control and socio-economic recovery and development.

The Prime Minister hopes that the Vietnamese community in China will continue to promote the spirit of mutual love and affection, uphold national pride, solidarity, and help each other overcome difficulties; strive to rise up, actively integrate, comply with the law, and contribute to the development of the host country; truly be an important bridge for the traditional friendship and comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between Vietnam and China. The Prime Minister also hopes that the Vietnamese community in China will always turn towards their homeland and country; proactively make more practical and effective contributions to the cause of national construction and development.

Regarding some of the people's thoughts, wishes and proposals, the Prime Minister expressed sympathy, shared, acknowledged and assigned relevant ministries, branches and agencies to focus on synthesizing, researching and soon having appropriate solutions in a timely and thorough spirit.

For the Vietnamese Embassy and representative agencies in China, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested that they closely follow the foreign policy of the Party and State, the spirit of the Joint Statement that the two sides reached after the visit of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, continue to promote Vietnam-China relations, and bring the relationship to stable and sustainable development. In particular, they should be more active in implementing economic diplomacy; doing well community work and protecting citizens in accordance with the spirit of Resolution 36 of the Politburo and Conclusion No. 12-KL/TW of the Politburo on the work of overseas Vietnamese in the new situation.

Earlier, on this occasion, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the Vietnamese delegation offered flowers to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh in the grounds of the Vietnamese Embassy in China.
