Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh agreed with the proposal of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union on organizing a conference of the Prime Minister to dialogue with Vietnamese farmers in 2024.
The Government Office has just issued Official Dispatch No. 9433/VPCP-NN to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union; ministries and agencies: Agriculture and Rural Development, Planning and Investment, Finance, Natural Resources and Environment, Science and Technology, Industry and Trade, Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs, Culture, Sports and Tourism, State Bank of Vietnam on preparing the content of the Conference of the Prime Minister's Dialogue with Vietnamese Farmers in 2024.
Specifically, according to the content of the dispatch, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh agreed with the proposal of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union (in Document No. 09-TTr/HNDVN dated November 27, 2024) on organizing a conference of the Prime Minister to dialogue with Vietnamese farmers in 2024.
At the same time, the Prime Minister also assigned the ministries and agencies: Agriculture and Rural Development, Planning and Investment, Finance, Natural Resources and Environment, Science and Technology, Industry and Trade, Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs, Culture, Sports and Tourism, State Bank of Vietnam to prepare content to advise on issues raised by farmers and cooperatives according to their assigned authority, functions and tasks.
Also in this document, the Prime Minister assigned the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union to preside over and coordinate with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and relevant agencies to prepare the content, and coordinate with the Government Office to prepare other tasks well to ensure the organization of the Dialogue Conference is practical and effective.
Previously, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union reported to the Prime Minister on organizing the Conference of the Prime Minister's dialogue with Vietnamese farmers in 2024 with the theme "Arousing the aspiration to get rich to develop a prosperous and happy country; confidently entering a new era."
On the eve of the 2024 Prime Minister's Dialogue with Farmers Conference, most localities have organized a Conference of Provincial and Municipal People's Committee Chairmen to dialogue with farmers, in a democratic, frank, and constructive atmosphere, discussing, debating, and resolving outstanding issues of farmers, cooperatives, and businesses in the agricultural sector in the area.
The Prime Minister's Conference on Dialogue with Farmers is an annual activity chaired by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union in accordance with Decision 218-QD/TW dated December 12, 2013 of the Politburo promulgating regulations on the participation of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations and people in giving opinions on Party building and government building; Official Dispatch No. 4817/VPCP-QHDP dated August 1, 2022 of the Government Office announcing the Prime Minister's Conclusion at the 2022 Prime Minister's Conference on Dialogue with Farmers on the proposal for the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union to chair the organization of the annual Dialogue Conference.
Up to now, the Conference of the Prime Minister's Dialogue with Farmers has been held 5 times in 2018, 2019, 2020, 2022 and 2023 and has become an annual activity for the head of the Government to meet, dialogue and exchange with farmers and cooperatives on issues related to agriculture, farmers and rural areas./.
