Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet sent a letter of condolences to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh about the mini apartment fire in Khuong Dinh ward, Thanh Xuan district, Hanoi.

Upon hearing the news of the tragic fire that occurred in Khuong Dinh ward, Thanh Xuan district, Hanoi on the night of September 12, 2023, causing heavy losses in human lives and property, on September 20, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet sent a letter of condolences to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.
In the letter, on behalf of the Royal Government and People of Cambodia, Prime Minister Hun Manet sent his deepest condolences to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, the victims and their families.
The Cambodian Prime Minister also expressed his belief that under the leadership of the Vietnamese Government, the Vietnamese people will soon overcome these painful moments.
On the same day, Minister of External Affairs of the Republic of India Subrahmanyam Jaishankar sent a letter of condolence to Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son.
The fire at the mini apartment building in lane 29/70, Khuong Ha street, Khuong Dinh ward, Thanh Xuan district occurred at 11:22 pm on September 12. By 0:15 am on September 13, the fire was basically extinguished, and the authorities had rescued more than a hundred trapped people. The fire was extremely serious, resulting in 56 deaths.
On September 20, the Hanoi City Police Investigation Agency announced the conclusion of the investigation into the cause of the mini apartment fire that killed 56 people on Khuong Ha Street, Thanh Xuan District.
The cause of the fire was determined to be an electrical short circuit in the electrical wiring in the battery area of the front of a gasoline-powered motorbike (scooter type) located against the south wall of the first floor, causing the fire. The fire then spread to the electrical cable area, the electric meter boxes mounted on the wall on the first floor, and the fire spread around.
