The Prime Minister appointed Major General Le Ngoc Hai , Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of Military Region 5, Ministry of National Defense, to hold the position of Commander of Military Region 5.

Military Region 5 has the basic functions and tasks of organizing, building, managing and commanding the armed forces of the Military Region to fight to protect the South Central region, build and consolidate the national defense in the locality. Military Region 5 starts from Hai Van Pass to the southernmost part of Ninh Thuan province, including 11 provinces and cities: Da Nang, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Phu Yen, Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan, Kon Tum, Gia Lai, Dak Lak and Dak Nong.

The Prime Minister appointed Major General Tran Vinh Ngoc , Deputy Political Commissar of Military Region 7, to hold the position of Political Commissar of Military Region 7.

Military Region 7 is a territorial military organization, established on December 10, 1945, now including Ho Chi Minh City and the provinces: Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc, Binh Thuan, Dong Nai, Lam Dong, Long An and Tay Ninh.

The Prime Minister appointed Major General Nguyen Duc Hung , Political Commissar of Army Corps 12, to hold the position of Political Commissar of Military Region 3.

Military Region 3 is responsible for organizing, building, managing and commanding the armed forces of the three types of troops to fight to protect the provinces in the Red River Delta. Military Region 3 includes 9 provinces and cities: Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Thai Binh, Nam Dinh, Ninh Binh, Hoa Binh, Hung Yen, Hai Duong and Ha Nam.
