Joining the joyful atmosphere of the Catholic Church in Vietnam preparing to celebrate Christmas 2024 and New Year 2025, on December 22, 2024, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Vu Chien Thang visited and congratulated priests, monks, and Catholics at Lao Cai parish, Hung Hoa diocese on the occasion of the parish being visited by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and wishing them a Merry Christmas 2024.
Receiving the delegation were Bishop Hoang Minh Tien, Bishop of Hung Hoa Diocese; Priest Nguyen Dinh Den, Parish Priest of Lao Cai Parish, and a number of priests of Hung Hoa Diocese and Lao Cai Parish.
Sharing with Bishop Hoang Minh Tien and priests, Deputy Minister Vu Chien Thang informed about outstanding issues regarding some of the country's socio-political situations, especially in Vietnam's diplomatic relations with major countries, in which the Vietnam-Vatican relationship is progressing well, demonstrating the country's increasingly elevated position, creating a premise and strong momentum to bring the country into a new era.
The Deputy Minister sent his best wishes on the occasion of Christmas 2024 to the priests, monks and Catholics of Lao Cai Parish, congratulating Lao Cai Parish on welcoming Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to visit and congratulate; On this occasion, the Deputy Minister and the working delegation presented gifts to a number of policy families; at the same time, expressed the wish that the dignitaries of Hung Hoa Diocese continue to guide parishioners to comply with the law, stay close to the nation, and actively contribute to the cause of national construction and development.
On behalf of the priests, monks, and parishioners of Hung Hoa Diocese, Bishop Hoang Minh Tien expressed his gratitude to Deputy Minister Vu Chien Thang and the delegation for visiting and wishing them a Merry Christmas 2024 at Lao Cai parish. He expressed his joy at the diplomatic achievements the country has made in recent times.
Bishop Hoang Minh Tien affirmed to continue to encourage Catholics to actively implement the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's laws, uphold the national spirit, the tradition of humanity, tolerance and charity to build the great national unity bloc; actively participate in patriotic emulation movements of "living a good life, good religion", "respecting God, loving the country"; promote good cultural and moral values and religious resources to contribute to building the homeland and the country to develop more and more. The Bishop also shared that the fact that Lao Cai parish and Hung Hoa diocese were welcomed by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to visit and congratulate Christmas was a great joy and honor for all the dignitaries and followers of Hung Hoa diocese as well as Lao Cai parish.
