Strawberries grown in Son La, ensuring quality standards and food hygiene and safety, have been shipped and are ready to serve passengers on Vietnam Airlines flights.


The quality of Son La strawberries is recognized.

On February 12, the People's Committee of Son La province held a departure ceremony to bring Son La strawberries on Vietnam Airlines flights.

Son La has advantages in climate and land with a total strawberry growing area of ​​over 700 hectares in 2024 - 2025; expected output of 9,300 tons, mainly in Mai Son, Moc Chau, Yen Chau districts. Of which, Mai Son district has a strawberry growing area of ​​over 550 hectares, with a harvest output of 7,500 tons.

Strawberries are grown in a roof house, hydroponic system, covered with nylon on the bed surface, water and fertilizer are supplied through drip and splash irrigation systems. Son La strawberry products are being registered for protection, building and implementing a certification label management system.

To promote the Son La strawberry brand, the Son La Provincial Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center coordinated with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and the People's Committee of Mai Son district to survey, evaluate the quality and select Xuan Que Strawberry Cooperative and ICHI FAM Strawberry Cooperative, Co Noi commune, Mai Son district to introduce, promote and supply on Vietnam Airlines flights.

Mr. Nguyen Van Nam, Director of Xuan Que Strawberry Cooperative, said: The Cooperative was established in 2017, with 18 members, and 50 hectares of strawberries. Since 2018, the entire strawberry growing area of ​​the Cooperative has been grown according to VietGAP standards, with an output of 1,000 tons/year; strawberry products are consumed in domestic supermarkets and exported to some European markets. Since the beginning of the season, the Cooperative has harvested about 100 tons to supply supermarkets in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, at a price of 250,000 - 300,000 VND/kg. The Cooperative's strawberry products are served to passengers on Vietnam Airlines flights, which is an opportunity for the Cooperative to expand the market, promote products, and increase income for Cooperative members.

Son La develops sustainable strawberry cultivation

The launch ceremony of bringing Son La strawberries onto Vietnam Airlines flights is an important and practical event in strengthening the coordination between Son La province and Vietnam Airlines Corporation; promoting communication, advertising, and promoting Son La province's agricultural products to be known to more and more customers through many consumption channels, enhancing the brand and value of strawberries.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Cong, Vice Chairman of Son La Provincial People's Committee said: The strawberry growing area in Co Noi commune has a climate and soil suitable for strawberries. In addition, farmers have applied scientific and technical advances in cultivation, thanks to which the quality of Son La strawberries is increasingly affirmed, meeting the needs of the markets.

Along with bringing Son La longan and plum onto Vietnam Airlines flights in previous years and in 2025, Son La strawberries will meet standards, ensure quality, food safety and hygiene, and serve airline meals.
