Total state budget revenue in the first five months of 2023 is estimated to decrease by 6% compared to the same period in 2022, while state budget expenditure is estimated to increase by 10.9%.
On May 29, the General Statistics Office (Ministry of Planning and Investment) said that in May 2023, state budget revenue estimated at 103.4 trillion VND, of which domestic revenue is estimated at 80.8 trillion VND, revenue from crude oil is estimated at 4.5 trillion VND, and budget balance revenue from import and export activities is estimated at 18.1 trillion VND.
Accumulated in the first 5 months of this year, total state budget revenue is estimated at 769.6 trillion VND, equal to 47.5% of the year's estimate and down 6% over the same period last year.
Domestic revenue is estimated at VND638.7 trillion, equal to 47.9% of the annual estimate and down 2.9% year-on-year, while revenue from crude oil is estimated at VND25.6 trillion, equal to 61% of the annual estimate and down 12.1% compared to the first 5 months of 2022.
Also according to the General Statistics Office, total state budget expenditure in May 2023 is estimated at 152 trillion VND; accumulated expenditure in the first 5 months of the year is estimated at 653.1 trillion VND, equal to 31.5% of the year's estimate and an increase of 10.9% over the same period last year.
Of which, regular expenditure for the first 5 months is estimated at 452.4 trillion VND, equal to 38.6% of the year's estimate, up 5.6%; development investment expenditure is 157.1 trillion VND, equal to 21.6%, up 35.5%; debt interest payment is 43 trillion VND, equal to 41.8%, down 1.3%.
State budget expenditure activities ensure the needs of socio-economic development, national defense, security, state management, payment of due debts as well as timely payment to subjects according to regulations.
