(NLDO) - Two people involved in a car accident that killed 7 people and injured 2 others in Nam Dinh are in stable health, one of whom has been discharged from the hospital.
On the afternoon of January 31, news from the Department of Health of Nam Dinh province said that 2 victims of a particularly serious traffic accident that occurred on National Highway 21 (through Nam Dinh city, Nam Dinh province) that caused 7 deaths were treated by hospital units mobilizing all resources. Up to now, 1 victim has been discharged from the hospital, and one case has been transferred to the central level.

According to the leader of the Nam Dinh Provincial Department of Health, immediately after the accident occurred, the industry mobilized human resources to the scene to promptly provide emergency aid and treatment to the accident victims.
The two victims were quickly taken to Nam Dinh General Hospital and Nam Dinh Children's Hospital for emergency treatment. After being treated, the victim NNQ (born in 1991) was stable and discharged from the hospital.
The remaining case is NND (born in 2018), after being given emergency treatment and stabilized at Nam Dinh Provincial Children's Hospital, his family has now transferred him to the National Children's Hospital for continued monitoring and treatment.
Previously, as reported by Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper, the particularly serious traffic accident was determined to have occurred at around 3:00 p.m. on January 30, at Km153+500 National Highway 21 in Nam Van Ward (Nam Dinh City).
At that time, Ms. NTD (born in 1964, residing in Dien Bien ward, Ba Dinh district, Hanoi; driving license class B1) was driving car with license plate 30G-156.xx (7-seat type) on National Highway 21 from Co Le town to Nam Dinh city. When she reached the above area, she plunged into a ditch next to the road.
The accident resulted in 7 deaths at the scene, including: Ms. NTD (the driver), Mr. N.D.C. (born in 1956, Ms. D.'s husband), Ms. NNA (born in 1989, Ms. D.'s daughter), TNMK (born in 2017, Ms. A.'s son), Mr. NVT (born in 1986, residing in Thanh Oai, Hanoi), Ms. D. (born in 1991, Mr. NVT's wife), and NQM (born in 2023, address unknown).
The two injured people were taken to the hospital for emergency treatment: Ms. NNQ (born in 1991, daughter of Ms. D.), and her nephew NND (a 6th grade student in Hanoi).
According to the Traffic Safety Committee of Nam Dinh province, after the accident occurred, leaders of the Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People's Committee, and Traffic Safety Committee of Nam Dinh province were present at the scene to direct the functional forces to transport the two injured people to the Provincial General Hospital and the Nam Dinh Provincial Children's Hospital; salvage the damaged vehicle, take the victims to the Provincial General Hospital; regulate traffic flow, ensure traffic order and safety, and promptly handle the scene.
To promptly encourage and support the victims' families, Nam Dinh province initially supported 24 million VND/dead person and 15 million VND/injured person.
Currently, the cause of the incident is being investigated and clarified by Nam Dinh province authorities.
