On the morning of February 12, the Quang Thuan Ward Police, Ba Don Town, handled a case of posting false information on Facebook about warning people that there was a group of people kidnapping children, causing public panic.
Previously, a Facebook account named “Bun Bun” posted an article warning people about a group of people pretending to be company employees, taking advantage of loopholes to kidnap children. The article also included a picture of a car with license plate 29D-54215, implying that this was the vehicle of the kidnappers.
Through verification, the Quang Thuan Ward Police identified that the owner of the account “Bun Bun” is Ms. TTHN, 29 years old, residing in Quang Thuan Ward, Ba Don Town. The car that was photographed and posted on Facebook belongs to Mr. D.VP, 32 years old, residing in Tan Thanh Commune, Yen Thanh District, Nghe An Province. This person is a technical staff who comes to install equipment for agencies and organizations in Quang Binh Province. This car stopped in Ba Don Town to have breakfast when it was photographed.
Immediately after discovering the incident, the Quang Thuan Ward Police asked Ms. N., owner of the Facebook account named "Bun Bun" to come to the police station. At the police station, Ms. N. admitted to posting false information, causing negative impacts on public opinion. Due to lack of knowledge and impulsive thinking, Ms. N. hastily shared the post without verifying it. Realizing the consequences, Ms. N. voluntarily removed the post, posted a correction and apologized. Currently, the Quang Thuan Ward Police, Ba Don Town are completing the case file to handle it according to the law.
