Conference on improving the effectiveness of tourism development in Ha Giang province

On the afternoon of February 10, the Party Committee of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ha Giang province held a thematic conference to discuss solutions to improve the effectiveness of tourism development in the province.

Implementing Resolution No. 11 of the Provincial Party Committee on tourism development for the period 2020 - 2025, the number of tourists coming to Ha Giang has increased year by year. In 2024, Ha Giang welcomed over 3.2 million visitors, including international visitors from 186 countries and territories around the world. Total revenue from tourism is estimated at 8,100 billion VND. By the end of 2024, the province has 26 travel businesses with about 9,000 trained and fostered workers operating in the tourism industry . More than 1,000 accommodation establishments with nearly 30,000 rooms. The province has 16 cultural villages recognized as "Typical Cultural Tourism Villages".

At the conference, delegates focused on discussing solutions to remove difficulties and overcome limitations in tourism development such as: Investing in human resource development, improving service quality, building unique tourism products associated with local identity; promoting tourism promotion; applying digital technology; improving management quality at destinations, protecting the environment. Many delegates suggested that all levels and sectors need to build a number of new tourism products based on available resources; design a model space to introduce tourism in Ha Giang province through promotional fairs and exhibitions. In addition, the province also needs to direct the strengthening of coordination between sectors, levels and localities in the province in the process of implementing tasks./.
