Agree to achieve 4 science and technology tasks to be implemented by 2024

STO - On the afternoon of August 14, at the Provincial People's Committee, Comrade Huynh Thi Diem Ngoc - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Soc Trang province, Chairman of the Council for Determining Tasks and Selecting to Implement Provincial Science and Technology Tasks chaired a meeting to evaluate and select investment topics to be implemented in 2024. At the meeting, the leaders of the Department of Science and Technology reported on the management of science and technology tasks from 2020 to present. Accordingly, the implementation of science and technology tasks has achieved positive results. During this period, 46 tasks were implemented; of which, 6 tasks belong to the national science and technology program, 40 provincial science and technology tasks, with a total investment of more than 88.8 billion VND. Accordingly, the specialized Science and Technology Council consulted on determining science and technology tasks to be implemented in 2024, with 9 topics and projects and 1 topic submitted to the Council for consideration. List of 74 topics and projects proposed not to be implemented in 2024.

Through discussion and explanation of the members, the Council voted to agree on the results of 4 scientific and technological tasks to be implemented in 2024, including: Building a soybean rotation model on 2-crop rice land associated with product consumption linkage in Soc Trang province; creating, managing and developing Soc Trang geographical indications for Soc Trang milk fruit products; implementing a low salinity artemia farming process adapting to climate change for Vinh Chau salt fields, Soc Trang province; researching and assessing the current status of clam beds and proposing a clam farming area suitable for coastal waters of Cu Lao Dung district (Soc Trang).
