It is known that in recent years, Binh Thuan has been continuously affected by natural disasters, especially drought and lack of water for production. Meanwhile, many farmers still maintain the habit of sowing rice densely, with a sowing volume of 200 - 250 kg/ha. Especially in rice cultivation, farmers often leave their fields flooded, causing loss of irrigation water, reducing the planting area. To adapt to climate change, frequent droughts and high fertilizer prices, improved rice production using the SRI method has been considered an effective and sustainable solution for farmers in Binh Thuan in recent years. Responding to the program launched by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development on reducing the amount of seeds sown to save production costs and change crop structure, from 2016 to present, the Provincial Agricultural Extension Center has built and implemented the program: "Improved rice production according to the SRI method" with an area of 564.4 hectares/756 participating households, including Tuy Phong district, and has achieved positive results so far.
