In the heroic atmosphere of the historic April days, on behalf of the city leaders, Mr. Pham Van Nam - Secretary of the Phan Thiet City Party Committee reviewed the glorious tradition of our army and people in the struggle to liberate our homeland and country; 50 years of the Liberation Day of Phan Thiet - Binh Thuan .

According to history, under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam , on April 18, 1975, the Coastal Army's Forward Command decided to use the Tank Brigade and the 2nd Infantry Corps in coordination with local forces, advancing along National Highway I to liberate Phan Thiet.

At 8:00 a.m. on April 19, 1975, the Military Management Committee took over Phan Thiet, announced Order No. 1, calling on all puppet soldiers and authorities to present themselves and surrender their weapons. At 9:00 a.m. on April 19, 1975, Phan Thiet was completely liberated, contributing with the army and people of the whole country to the great victory of spring 1975, completely liberating the South and reunifying the country.

Mr. Nguyen Kim Manh - Deputy Secretary of the City Youth Union expressed his feelings.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Secretary of the Phan Thiet City Party Committee emphasized: The 50th anniversary of the Liberation Day of Phan Thiet - Binh Thuan homeland is an opportunity for us to review together the glorious and heroic pages of the history of the Vietnamese nation, of the Party Committee and the People of Phan Thiet - Binh Thuan and express our gratitude for the great contributions and sacrifices of heroes, martyrs, comrades, compatriots and previous generations to continue and further promote in the current new revolutionary cause.

The Secretary of the Phan Thiet City Party Committee affirmed that the more proud we are of the heroic revolutionary struggle history of our nation and homeland, the more we must uphold our sense of responsibility, continue the tradition, and promote the valuable lessons from the Great Victory of Spring 1975 in today's innovation cause. That is the spirit of determination to fight and win; the aspiration to develop the country through promoting industrialization, modernization, science and technology development, innovation and digital transformation for the goal of "rich people, strong country, democracy, fairness and civilization". The Party Committee and people of Binh Thuan in general, and Phan Thiet in particular, will continue to unite and make efforts to build the locality to be increasingly strong in politics, rich in economy, beautiful in culture, strong in national defense and security, together with the whole country, moving steadily on the path of sustainable development and integration.
