Pepper price today February 3, 2025 in the domestic market is stable in key localities, trading from 146,500 - 148,200 VND/kg.

Specifically, pepper price today in Gia Lai is at 147,500 VND/kg.

Pepper prices today in the provinces of Dong Nai (146,500 VND/kg); Dak Lak (148,200 VND/kg); Dak Nong (148,200 VND/kg); Ba Ria - Vung Tau (147,000 VND/kg) and Binh Phuoc (147,000 VND/kg).

Thus, pepper prices today in key growing areas remained stable in most key growing areas. The highest pepper price was at 148,200 VND/kg. The domestic market remained stable throughout the Lunar New Year holiday.

Right after Tet, local farmers started harvesting the early-ripening pepper crop in some areas. Most pepper acreage will be harvested immediately after that. This year's harvest is expected to come later than usual due to unfavorable weather last year.

Currently, the pepper growing area in our country is about 113,000 hectares, with an estimated output of 190,000 tons. In 2024, businesses exported nearly 250,000 tons of pepper, worth 1.31 billion USD - a record in the past 8 years. Vietnam continues to hold the world's largest warehouse with output accounting for 40% and exports accounting for 60% globally.

Closing 2024, businesses in the pepper industry simultaneously recorded strong growth from 32-68%, with some companies even seeing a sudden increase of 150% in export revenue compared to 2023. Farmers also had a bumper year, earning 60,000-100,000 VND when selling 1 kg of pepper.

According to the assessment, the price of "black gold" in Vietnam will remain high, because the supply is decreasing, while the demand in major markets such as the US and Europe remains stable, China may increase imports from March to April because the inventory is gradually running out.

Given the current situation, experts believe that pepper prices will continue to remain stable at a high level in February 2025, before experiencing strong fluctuations in March and April 2025. Farmers and exporters need to closely monitor market developments to make reasonable buying and selling decisions, avoiding being passive in the face of sudden changes in supply and demand.

In the world market, at the end of the most recent trading session, the International Pepper Community (IPC) listed the price of Lampung black pepper (Indonesia) at 7,165 USD/ton; the price of Brazilian black pepper ASTA 570 at 6,150 USD/ton; the price of Kuching black pepper (Malaysia) ASTA at 9,000 USD/ton.

Muntok white pepper price is 9,672 USD/ton; Malaysian ASTA white pepper price is at 11,600 USD/ton.

Vietnam black pepper price is traded at 6,350 USD/ton for 500 g/l; 550 g/l at 6,650 USD/ton; white pepper price at 9,550 USD/ton.

The International Pepper Community commented that the pepper market in the last week of January showed a positive outlook as no country reported a decrease.
