What can we see through 250 Vietnamese art photos?

On the afternoon of October 25, in Hue city, the Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibition (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) coordinated with the Department of Culture and Sports of Thua Thien - Hue province, the Department of Culture and Sports of Hanoi and the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists to organize the Vietnam Art Photography Exhibition 2024.

The exhibition displays 250 works by 194 authors from the Vietnam Art Photography Contest 2024, of which 33 outstanding works were awarded prizes.

Director of the Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibitions Ma The Anh said that through the Vietnam Art Photography Competition and Exhibition 2024, the Organizing Committee hopes to encourage artists to create many new works of value in terms of content and art, serving the cultural and spiritual life of the people; contributing to introducing and promoting the image of the country and people of Vietnam. From there, it will help state management agencies and the Photography industry have an overview and correctly assess the current situation of the Vietnamese Photography community, issues in photo creation in recent times to find a development direction for Vietnamese Photography in the new period.

According to the Organizing Committee, after more than 3 months of launching, the contest received 9,500 works from 1,373 authors from 63 provinces and cities nationwide. The Art Council established by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, including prestigious photographers, conducted a serious and fair selection and selected 250 works from 194 authors to display at the exhibition. Of these, 33 excellent works were awarded, including 3 Gold medals, 6 Silver medals, 8 Bronze medals and 15 Encouragement prizes. In addition, 1 work was awarded the Outstanding Work Award about Hue by the People's Committee of Thua Thien - Hue province.

These are the works of passion, the results of the artists' artistic creations over the past 2 years, reflecting the artists' emotions, perceptions and thoughts about the reality of life. In the genre of realistic photography, images of Vietnam in the process of development and integration appear with realistic, vivid and rich camera angles. In the genre of conceptual photography, the authors have invested, researched and achieved initial success in the field of conceptual photography creation, contributing to enriching photographic compositions in line with new trends.

The exhibition takes place from now until November 3, at Building No. 15 Le Loi, Hue City.
