The chemical warfare conducted by the US in Vietnam from 1961 to 1971 exposed 4.8 million Vietnamese people, more than 3 million of whom were victims; many people suffered from serious illnesses, deformities, disabilities, and mental retardation; Agent Orange sequelae were passed on to the fourth generation, causing countless tragedies for generations of Vietnamese people. Despite the attention and support policies issued by the Party, State, and all levels and sectors, most victims and families of Agent Orange victims still face many difficulties and deprivations both materially and spiritually. Many poor and sick situations make families exhausted, so sharing and help from the community are needed, so that victims have the opportunity to receive health care, medical examination and treatment, improve their lives, overcome difficulties and integrate into the community. |
