America The annual Christmas tree lighting event in New York City took place today with the participation of many famous stars and singers.
As scheduled, at the end of November every year, New York organizes a Christmas tree lighting event in front of the Rockefeller Center building, attracting the participation of thousands of tourists and residents.

The tree is decorated with 50,000 LED lights. The wire used to wrap around the tree is 8 km long. On top of the tree is a star made from 30 million Swarovski crystals. The star-fitting ceremony takes place near the end of the event.
New York Mayor Eric Adams turned on the light as a choir sang "Joy to the World." This year's tree is an 80- to 85-year-old Norway spruce, which was transported from the town of Vestal in southern New York.
Erik Pauze, Rockefeller Center's chief gardener, has been in charge of finding the tree that lights up every Christmas for 30 years. Pauze's criteria for choosing a tree include a Norway spruce, at least 70 feet tall, with a spread of 40 to 40 feet. The tree must be large and sturdy enough to handle the weight of the wires and bulbs. It must have a beautiful shape, green leaves, and a full canopy. This year's Christmas tree donor at Rockefeller Center is Joe Fryer.
The lighting of the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree is considered a milestone marking the start of the holiday season. Both the tree and the Rockefeller Center are popular tourist destinations when visiting New York.
