Quang Ngai City - Old spirit, new opportunities

On the evening of March 23, at the mini park in front of the Provincial Post Office, the People's Committee of Quang Ngai City organized an art program to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation Day of Quang Ngai Town, Quang Ngai Province (March 24, 1975 - March 24, 2025), with the theme "Quang Ngai City - Ancient spirit, new opportunities".

50 years ago, in the spirit of the 1975 Spring General Offensive and Uprising, on March 23, 1975, the Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee issued the Directive "Strengthening attacks and uprisings throughout the province, defeating all enemies, liberating rural areas, liberating towns and cities; regaining power for the people, completing the historic task of liberating the entire province".

Faced with the strong attacks of our army and people, on the night of March 23, 1975, the enemy in Quang Ngai town began to flee. At exactly 7:40 a.m. on March 24, 1975, our troops began to attack and approach Quang Ngai town. Many important locations were occupied by armed forces, creating a pincer movement to tightly encircle the enemy. Inside the town, special forces and revolutionary masses simultaneously rose up and occupied the enemy's government headquarters. On the night of March 24, Quang Ngai town was completely liberated.

March 24, 1975 left a deep mark in the history of the revolutionary struggle of Quang Ngai City in particular and Quang Ngai Province in general, as a heroic feat over the past half century; a symbol of the indomitable spirit and indomitable will of the army and people here, contributing significantly to the complete liberation of the South and the reunification of the country.

The art program celebrating the 50th anniversary of Quang Ngai City Liberation Day has 3 main chapters, with 18 special performances. Chapter I has the theme "Unforgettable years".

Performances such as: "Ba To Guerrilla", "Singing about the Son of An Mountain - Tra River", "Quang Ngai Victory", "Quang Ngai My Hometown, Early Spring This Day", "Tra River Emotions" and "Quang Ngai Festival Season" took the audience back in time, back to the heroic past, feeling the strength of solidarity and the indomitable will of the army and people of Quang Ngai City in the struggle for national liberation. The performances expressed gratitude to previous generations; at the same time, aroused deep national pride for today's generations.

Chapter II has the theme “Love of the land, love of people”, with performances such as: “Quang Ngai me”, “Returning to Tra river”, “Love of the sea”, “Listen to the sea lull at night”, “Vietnam in me”,… The performances are like an invitation to those far from home, friends and tourists everywhere to return to Quang Ngai land rich in revolutionary tradition; the place that nurtured many generations of talent and intelligence, with extremely important contributions to the cause of national liberation struggle and country building, making the homeland of An mountain - Tra river famous.

Chapter III has the theme “Quang Ngai City - New Opportunities”. Performances such as: “Beautiful Vietnam”, “Colorful Life”, “Rebirth”, “Sparkling Rainbow”, “Vietnam, a Wonderful Country - A Country Full of Joy”, have shown the determination and aspiration of the people to join hands and unite to build Quang Ngai City to become more and more developed and modern.
