(HQ Online) - The latest statistics from the General Department of Customs show that in January 2024, Thai Nguyen accelerated to surpass many key localities such as Ho Chi Minh City, Bac Ninh, Binh Duong... to lead the country in export turnover.

Specifically, in January, Thai Nguyen's export turnover reached 3.8 billion USD, while the next locality was Ho Chi Minh City with 3.75 billion USD, and Bac Ninh ranked 3rd with nearly 3.1 billion USD.
Compared to the same period last year, Thai Nguyen's export turnover increased by 49% (equivalent to an additional turnover of 1.25 billion USD).

There has been no specific analysis of Thai Nguyen's impressive growth, but in a recent interview with Customs Magazine reporters, a representative of Thai Nguyen Customs Branch (Bac Ninh Customs Department) said that import-export activities in the area in the first month of 2024 have improved a lot, especially the production and export of phones by Samsung Group.
In addition to the three localities mentioned above, in January, there were six provinces and cities with export turnover of 1 billion USD or more, including: Binh Duong, Hai Phong, Bac Giang, Dong Nai, Hanoi and Vinh Phuc.
Among the billion-dollar export localities, except for Bac Ninh, which saw a decrease in turnover, the remaining provinces and cities all had impressive growth.
In January, the country's total export turnover reached 34.53 billion USD, an increase of 46% over the same period in 2023.
