On the evening of December 26, the leader of the Ho Chi Minh City Urban Railway Management Board (MAUR) confirmed the above incident and said that train number 1700 departed from Suoi Tien Bus Station to Ben Thanh Station.

Specifically, a signal failure caused a train to stop. The incident caused a chain reaction that paralyzed the entire line, leaving passengers bewildered.

According to MAUR, at 6:30 p.m., the train stopped at Ba Son station. Here, during the inspection, the dispatching department of Metro Line 1 (HURC1) found that some details in the signal were not in accordance with the operating procedures and technical instructions.

"Because this is a new phase of train operation, to ensure absolute safety for passengers, staff and vehicles, the operator has consulted and the Urban Railway Management Board, Urban Railway Company No. 1 decided to temporarily stop the train to coordinate with contractor HITACHI to organize inspection and evaluation," MAUR informed.

After about 10 minutes of inspection, relevant units allowed the train to operate again.

"We hope that passengers who took the 1700 train recently will share their experiences during the first phase of service. We serve with all our heart for the safety and convenience of passengers," MAUR said.

Metro Line 1 officially opened on December 22, after 12 years of construction. People will experience it for free during the first month of operation.
