1,000-seat high-speed boat to Vung Tau

Thang Long Ship will operate two trips per week, one from Vung Tau to Con Dao and one return trip from Con Dao to Vung Tau.

On December 23, Phu Quoc Express Joint Stock Company announced that the Thang Long high-speed boat with a capacity of more than 1,000 seats will resume operation on the Vung Tau - Con Dao route from February 7, 2025.

Thang Long will operate two trips per week, one from Vung Tau to Con Dao and one from Con Dao to Vung Tau. This schedule will start from February 7, 2025 and February 9, 2025.

Previously, due to weather conditions, the ship had temporarily stopped operating since September 2024 and only anchored in Vung Tau City. However, with stable weather forecasts in February 2025, the Thang Long high-speed ship will return to serve tourists and people traveling between Vung Tau and Con Dao.

The Thang Long high-speed train is over 77m long, nearly 9.5m wide, and can accommodate up to 1,017 passengers. The train has 3 floors, using 3 of the world's most modern engines manufactured by the Roll-Royce MTU Company of the Federal Republic of Germany with a total capacity of nearly 12,000 horsepower.

The hull is made of aluminum alloy imported from Italy, helping the ship reach speeds of up to 32 nautical miles/hour, shortening the time from Vung Tau to Con Dao to just over 3 hours.

With this special design, Thang Long ship can operate in harsh weather conditions such as level 8 gusts, wave heights up to 6m while still being highly stable and minimizing vertical roll, reducing seasickness for passengers.

The Thang Long super ship meets national technical standards on classification and construction of high-speed seagoing ships, ensuring compliance with the strict standards of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), and can operate safely on large sea areas to the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa islands.

The ship was built by 189 LLC under the General Department of Defense Industry, Ministry of Defense. This is the largest single-hull high-speed ship in Vietnam, launched in 2022.

Having a high-speed boat that can carry more than 1,000 passengers per trip will contribute to creating convenience for Con Dao residents and tourists when they need to travel from Con Dao to the mainland and vice versa.

Previously, the ticket price for the Thang Long high-speed ferry to Vung Tau - Con Dao was sold from 790,000 - 1.2 million VND/trip, depending on the class from economy class to VIP class. Tickets for children, disabled people and the elderly were from 550,000 - 760,000 VND/trip.
