The schools that received the books include Tan Phu A Primary School, Tan Phu Secondary School and Duong Van Thi Secondary School. This is also the hometown of the founders of the BKXD 97 volunteer group initiated by Dr. Dang Van Cong Bang, Head of the Department of Water Resources, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology.
The Charity Bookcase Program donated 30 classroom bookcases (worth 45 million VND) and many gifts to 3 schools in Chau Thanh District, Ben Tre.
Representative of BKXD 97 group, Mr. Nguyen Huu Hieu (founding member) emotionally said: "We are very grateful to the Humanitarian Bookcase program. This is the first time we have cooperated with the program, bringing nearly 1,000 books to Chau Thanh students. We hope that these good books will help them understand more about the meaning of life, sow the seeds of self-reliance, kindness and noble dreams."
Mr. Nguyen Quoc Huy, Executive Director of the Charity Bookcase program, shared: "This is an extremely meaningful activity of former students to show gratitude to their hometown and old school. In particular, they also bring their wives and children to participate, so that the children can experience charitable activities early, opening their hearts to everyone." The program also featured singer Trieu Linh and singer Lam Tri Tu with musical performances about the relationship between teachers and students, hometown and Fatherland.
