Việt NamViệt Nam25/10/2024

Entering the last months of the year, the commodity market is more vibrant due to increased consumer activities among the people. In order to contribute to ensuring market stability, the Market Management Department of Ninh Thuan province has developed a plan to strengthen inspection, control, and strictly handle violations in commercial business in the province.

In the first 9 months of 2024, commercial and service business activities in the province were relatively stable. People's consumption mainly focused on food, foodstuffs, fashion, consumer goods, entertainment services, etc. Abundant goods fully met people's shopping needs, no speculation, hoarding, unreasonable price increases, etc. occurred, causing market instability. However, the situation of transporting and trading in smuggled goods, goods of unknown origin, goods violating labeling regulations, and trade fraud still occurred. The main infringing items are: Smuggled cigarettes, electronic cigarette machines, clothes, shoes, mobile phone accessories, sugar, candy, household electrical appliances, etc. Many traders and businesses disregard profits to bring smuggled, fake, poor quality products, of unknown origin, not ensuring food hygiene and safety, etc. into the domestic market for consumption. The methods and tricks of violators are increasingly sophisticated, not only in traditional sales channels but also in e-commerce channels. The Ninh Thuan Market Management Department has stepped up inspection, control, and prevention of the trade and transportation of smuggled goods and goods of unknown origin. As a result, 528 cases were inspected, 102 cases were handled, and more than 1.3 billion VND was collected for the state budget, of which over 1.2 billion VND was administratively fined, and the value of confiscated and destroyed goods was more than 800 million VND.

Based on the direction of the General Department of Market Management, the Provincial People's Committee, the Provincial Steering Committee 389, the Provincial Market Management Department has developed a plan to combat counterfeit goods, goods of unknown origin and goods that infringe intellectual property rights in the last months of 2024. At the same time, direct the Market Management teams to have specific plans and solutions to combat the trade of banned goods, smuggled goods, and the production and trade of counterfeit goods and goods of unknown origin, especially goods with high demand at the end of the year such as confectionery, cosmetics, beer, alcohol, cigarettes, sugar, firecrackers, etc.

Accordingly, the Market Management Force will focus on inspecting and controlling the market and strictly handling administrative violations of essential goods with high consumer demand at the end of the year. At the same time, closely monitor the trading activities of gasoline, liquefied petroleum gas, and resolutely prevent speculation, hoarding, and unreasonable price increases to contribute to ensuring market stability.

Mr. Tran Kieu Hung, Director of the Provincial Market Management Department, said: From now until the end of the year, the Market Management force will strengthen market inspection and control. Depending on the area in charge, the Market Management teams will coordinate with customs, border guards, police, local authorities and Party committees to strengthen inspection and control of goods on National Highway 1 and National Highway 27 through the province. In particular, focusing on essential goods with high consumption demand at the end of the year such as confectionery, cosmetics, beer, alcohol, cigarettes, sugar, firecrackers... and essential goods serving people's lives.

Apply professional measures to promptly detect signs of violations, strictly handle violations of the law in commercial business, prevent speculation, hoarding, and unreasonable price increases.

In addition to inspection work, the provincial Market Management Department has increased propaganda and dissemination of laws to organizations and individuals trading in goods to raise awareness of law compliance in business activities and sign commitments not to trade in counterfeit, smuggled, and poor quality goods. In order to contribute to stabilizing the market, ensuring the quality of goods serving the people, and protecting consumer rights.
