3 children drowned tragically while swimming in Thanh Hoa beach

On the afternoon of June 11, speaking with VietNamNet, Mr. Le Dinh Phuong, Chairman of the People's Committee of Hai Ninh Ward, Nghi Son Town (Thanh Hoa) said that a drowning incident had just occurred in the area, causing the death of 3 children.

Accordingly, the incident occurred at around 3:00 p.m. on June 11, at Hai Ninh beach, Hai Ninh ward, Nghi Son town (Thanh Hoa).

At that time, a man residing in Thanh Thuy commune, Nghi Son town (Thanh Hoa) took his 4 grandchildren to the beach to play. While the 3 grandchildren VTAD (born 2009), VQU (born 2011) and HMTV (born 2011) were swimming in the sea, the grandfather was on the shore looking after a small child.

After that, he took the younger child home first, leaving the three older children to swim in the sea. When he returned, he discovered that the three children were missing.

Upon receiving the news, local authorities mobilized militia, border guards, police and local people to search.

At around 4pm, two bodies of children were found and at nearly 5pm, the body of the third child was found.

It is known that of the 3 children, 2 are from Thanh Thuy commune, Nghi Son town, 1 is from Truong Minh commune, Nong Cong district but is currently living with his parents in the south.

Authorities have handed over the bodies of the three children to the victims' families.
