Mohibullah Mokhlis, the head of the Taliban government's judiciary, told a news conference that they had destroyed 21,328 musical instruments in the past year and stopped thousands of "immoral" film sellers.
In particular, the agency fired 281 members of the security forces for not growing beards, according to their interpretation of Islamic law.

The Taliban's Ministry of Morality has been criticized by human rights groups and the United Nations for its restrictions on women. The UN Mission in Afghanistan has reported cases of Ministry of Morality officials stopping and detaining women for several hours for not complying with Islamic dress.
The Taliban said the allegations were "baseless" and said the rules applied their interpretation of Islamic law and Afghan customs.
The Taliban's Ministry of Morality also controls women's clothing and prohibits women from traveling with male relatives on long trips. The ministry said a new policy is being implemented to ensure Islamic dress codes.
“Based on the Supreme Leader's directive, the plan to observe the hijab (Islamic dress) for women has been approved,” Mokhlis said.
Mokhlis added that the Taliban Ministry of Morality has prevented more than 200 cases of women trafficking and more than 2,600 cases of violence against women.
The Ministry of Ethics has previously said women should cover their faces or wear burqas to cover up and this time the practice would "encourage" male family members instead of women.
Most Afghan women covered their faces in public in the conservative country even before the Taliban took over, but some, especially in Kabul, often go uncovered or wear burqas.
