Kinhtedothi - On the afternoon of February 1 (the 4th day of Tet), a traffic accident occurred on the road leading to Can Tho bridge, causing traffic jams for dozens of kilometers. On the road from Cai Tac intersection to Can Tho toll station, hundreds of cars lined up in a long line, inching forward.
According to records, at around 4:00 p.m. on February 1, from Cai Tac intersection to Can Tho Toll Station (Cai Tac Town, Chau Thanh A, Hau Giang), the speed of vehicles participating in traffic was very slow, the line of vehicles was about 10km long, moving little by little, making it difficult to move.
According to initial information, the cause of the prolonged traffic jam was due to a traffic accident that had occurred on the road leading to Can Tho Bridge. Although traffic police quickly arrived at the scene to handle the situation, they were still unable to prevent the prolonged traffic jam.
By 5 p.m. that same day, hundreds of cars and trucks were still stuck, unable to move. Meanwhile, many motorbikes tried to squeeze into the narrow gap between two cars to pass, but got stuck, making the traffic jam even more serious.
“I have been waiting for nearly 2 hours and I am getting impatient. The section from Cai Tac intersection to Vo Truong Toan University gate is only a few kilometers, but after more than 30 minutes, the car still cannot move. In this situation, it will probably be evening before traffic can move again,” Mr. D.BT worried.
Meanwhile, another driver shared that because the car was "stuck" for too long and it was too stuffy, he had to get his whole family out of the car and wait.
