According to initial information, at around 6:30 a.m. on January 31 (the third day of Tet), a series of accidents involving 3 cars occurred on the Noi Bai - Lao Cai highway.

The series of accidents occurred at Km 140+750 in Xuan Ai commune (Van Yen district, Yen Bai province), in the direction of Lao Cai - Hanoi.

Specifically, the car with license plate 20A- 796.XX driven by Mr. NTN (born in 1986, residing in Cao Bang) suddenly crashed into the guardrail on the highway. Then, the car with license plate 24A- 150.XX driven by Mr. NVH (born in 1970, residing in Lao Cai) behind was unable to brake in time and collided with the car with license plate 20A- 796.XX.

At this time, the tourist bus with license plate 29F-010.XX driven by Mr. NHT (born in 1990, residing in Hanoi) traveling in the same direction behind continued to crash into 2 cars.

At the scene, 3 cars were damaged. The passenger car that had the accident turned across the road, causing traffic in both directions to be partially congested.

Upon receiving the news, Highway Traffic Control Patrol Team No. 1 (Traffic Police Department) sent officers and soldiers to protect the scene and regulate traffic. At the same time, they checked the alcohol and drug levels of 3 drivers but found no violations.
