Eight years ago, there was controversy over the information that MH370 crashed in the Cambodian jungle. This issue was once again raised recently when international newspapers released more pictures of the ill-fated plane.

However, Cambodia has denied international media reports that parts of Malaysia Airlines MH370 may be in the Cambodian jungle, saying it is ready to cooperate with Malaysian authorities if requested to open an investigation into the incident.

According to Khmer Times, Sin Chanserivutha, spokesman and deputy minister of the Cambodian Ministry of Civil Aviation (SSCA), said on May 27: "The information that MH370 crashed in Cambodia is fake. The false media reports and images were published once about 8 years ago, and it was revised and published recently, causing confusion."

The statement was made by Mr. Chanserivutha after the British website Mirror published an article on May 25 saying that "the mystery of MH370 has been solved by Googles Maps, with the plane wreckage discovered in the deepest part of the Cambodian jungle." The article also included a screenshot of a Google Maps satellite map, showing a white object "like a plane wreck" in the forest.

Experts also say that this image is baseless, because if MH370 really crashed in the forest, the vegetation over the past 10 years would have covered it, making it impossible to see by satellite images.

Mr. Chanserivutha said that this information and image appeared 8 years ago, but was now "dug up" and posted on the media, confusing readers.

He affirmed that if international researchers or anyone can find enough evidence to show that MH370 crashed in the Cambodian jungle, the country is ready to cooperate with Malaysia to investigate and clarify.

New plan in search for missing MH370 plane

The disappearance of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 more than a decade ago remains one of the greatest mysteries in modern aviation history.

The most expensive search for MH370 in history ended a few years ago. However, in the latest development in the search for missing MH370, a team of scientists from Cardiff University, UK, has proposed a strategy to solve the mystery of MH370.

Cardiff University scientist Dr Usama Kadri said sounds recorded by underwater microphones during the plane crash would be useful in the search for MH370.

Scientists point out that strong collisions in the ocean, such as plane crashes, will create special signals that are transmitted in the water.

Therefore, hydrophones, which collect waves in water, will be used to collect these signals, thereby helping scientists determine the exact location where MH370 crashed.

Underwater seismic wave collection technology uses underwater microphones designed to detect and record sound signals in water.

Underwater seismic receivers convert underwater sound waves into electrical signals, helping to study and monitor many underwater phenomena.

Some main applications of domestic seismic wave receiver technology such as: Piezoelectric materials, frequency range...

Dr Kadri said a thorough analysis of 100 hours of data believed to potentially include signals related to the acoustic signals of the aircraft impacting the water was carried out.

This analysis was performed using 20 years of hydroacoustic data made available by the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO).

For the study, 10 historical aircraft crashes that occurred in open ocean areas were selected and hydroacoustic data was used to determine the locations of these aircraft.

Notably, each hydroacoustic station is made up of three underwater seismic receivers placed several kilometers apart in a triangular formation. According to the study published in the journal Nature, the direction of the signal can be determined with certainty by calculating the difference in time between when the signal arrives.

However, acoustic data alone is not enough. The crash site and the wreckage of MH370 may not be found by this method alone. However, the study authors say that acoustic data could be useful to those still searching for MH370.

"In the case of MH370, the official investigations concluded that the aircraft most likely crashed near the seventh arc, the last point of contact between the aircraft and the INMARSAT satellite. Therefore, further analysis and future research are needed to fully understand the signals detected and their relevance to the disappearance of MH370," said Mr. Kadri.

Flight MH370 went missing on March 8, 2014 while flying from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to Beijing, China.

Up to now, the search for Malaysia Airlines MH370 has been carried out by many countries but the wreckage of the plane carrying 239 people, including passengers and crew, has not been found.
