A team of RMIT University Vietnam students entered the top three of the HSBC Asia Pacific Business Case Competition, along with two teams from the Philippines and Hong Kong.
The competition was organized by HSBC Bank (Vietnam) Ltd. in collaboration with VietSeeds Scholarship Fund. Vietnam’s representative in the regional competition was Team Bullet, consisting of four students from RMIT University Vietnam. The members said that each of them had different goals, from improving their skills and knowledge for their own startup project, to furthering their academic path and finding internship opportunities at large corporations.
After 5 months of training with experts from HSBC Vietnam and VietSeeds Scholarship Fund, Team Bullet won the national championship and continued to enter the regional round. In this round, 24 teams from leading universities in the Asia-Pacific region competed for the championship trophy.

In the regional round, after three rounds of competition and six days of expert training, the student teams were asked to solve real-life business situations in various fields. Each team had six hours of preparation to analyze the situation, propose a strategic plan, and then solve the problem, presenting and debating before a panel of judges for 35 minutes.
Vuong Vinh Loc - Bullet representative said that the online competition format via Zoom platform, the longer competition schedule and presentation are the biggest challenges for the teams this year. Accordingly, the team must manage and make the most of their time so that the exam meets the high requirements in both content and form of an international competition.
"The national round has trained us to solve questions sharply, quickly and effectively. Thanks to that, the team can spend more time taking care of the form and perfecting the content when competing in the regional round," the male student added.
