From December 26-31, at April 16 Square, Phan Rang - Thap Cham city, Ninh Thuan province, "Ninh Thuan Food Festival - Welcoming New Year 2024" will take place.

This is the first culinary cultural event held in Ninh Thuan province to introduce and promote the unique dishes of localities in Ninh Thuan province, regions across the country and countries around the world; create a joyful and exciting atmosphere to welcome the new year 2024, a space to experience and enjoy culinary culture for local people, domestic and international tourists; at the same time, create a strong influence to promote tourism, Ninh Thuan cuisine, build a unique Ninh Thuan culinary brand, rich in cultural identity of ethnic groups in the province.

Coming to "Ninh Thuan Food Festival - Welcoming the New Year 2024", people and tourists will be immersed in a diverse, attractive and unique culinary culture space, with more than 80 food stalls and booths displaying OCOP products, typical products of Ninh Thuan province and localities across the country; experience and enjoy over 100 attractive and unique dishes; witness firsthand performances of cooking art by famous chefs; watch Video Clips promoting the images of typical raw material regions of Ninh Thuan such as: grapes, apples, seafood, oysters, goats, lambs, asparagus... visit booths, stalls displaying OCOP products, typical products, kitchen-related products, utensils, culinary processing materials...

Within the framework of the "Ninh Thuan Food Festival - Welcoming the New Year 2024" there will be a number of new and very attractive and unique activities such as: sheep parade; lion and dragon dance, street art; games, culinary activities; talented star chef competition about Ninh Thuan sheep and oysters.

Ninh Thuan - A land of unique values

Ninh Thuan is a locality with many potentials and advantages; has unique and distinct culture, products and natural resources to develop Ninh Thuan tourism into a spearhead and sustainable economic sector.

Ninh Thuan is located at the intersection of national traffic axes; has National Highway 1A and the North-South railway; has a long and beautiful coastline of more than 105km with beaches with beautiful, wild scenery, diverse marine ecosystems and warm, sunny weather all year round; has a very beautiful coastal route and is convenient for connecting destinations in the coastal strip of Ninh Thuan province.

At the same time, this is also a province with a colorful cultural picture with very unique tangible and intangible cultural heritages such as: Cham cultural art with folk songs, Cham dances, traditional occupations and customs, typical Cham religious rituals such as: Kate Festival; My Nghiep handmade brocade weaving; Bau Truc pottery village, the oldest in Southeast Asia; Po Klong Garai tower and Hoa Lai tower recognized as special national monuments.

In particular, on November 29, 2022, UNESCO officially listed “Cham pottery art on the List of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Need of Urgent Safeguarding”. This event was announced by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as one of the 10 typical cultural, sports and tourism events in 2022.

The province has many famous historical and cultural relics; a diverse marine ecosystem, forests, and coral reefs with wild and poetic natural scenery and many historical relics that have been ranked at the national level (Ninh Thuan currently has 239 relics, intangible cultural heritages, 18 national heritages and 46 provincial relics and heritages); there are 2 national parks, Phuoc Binh and Nui Chua, which still have the characteristics of primeval forests with diverse and rich plant ecosystems, of which Nui Chua is recognized by UNESCO as a world biosphere reserve. In addition, Vinh Hy Bay of Ninh Thuan is also ranked as a national scenic relic, one of the 8 most beautiful bays in Vietnam.

With a warm and sunny climate all year round, Ninh Thuan is also a natural advantage that helps Ninh Thuan develop high-yield, high-quality crops and livestock that have become local specialties such as green asparagus, apples, garlic, goats, sheep; especially grapes and grape products have developed, making Ninh Thuan the " capital " of grapes in the country.

In order to develop tourism in a comprehensive direction, becoming a spearhead economic sector, creating a driving force for socio-economic development of the province, Ninh Thuan tourism industry has specific development orientations for the period 2021-2025, with a vision to 2030; in which the goal set by 2025, Ninh Thuan tourism industry basically becomes a spearhead economic sector, striving to attract 3.5 million visitors, revenue reaching about 2,900 billion VND, contributing 13% of GRDP; by 2030, Ninh Thuan tourism industry truly becomes a spearhead economic sector, attracting 06 million visitors, contributing 15% of GRDP. In 2023, Ninh Thuan welcomed over 2.9 million tourists; in 2024, striving to achieve the target of welcoming 3.2 million visitors.

In recent years, Ninh Thuan has focused on promoting the exploitation of agriculture - forestry - fishery associated with tourism activities, typically: Dong Hai fishing port, Nai lagoon, Vinh Hy bay, Thai An grape village, Phuoc Thuan commune grape village, fruit gardens of Lam Son and Phuoc Binh communes, An Hoa sheep farm, ... along with the application of high technology in the development of green asparagus cultivation in Tuan Tu village, Aloe vera garden in Van Hai ward has created many products with high nutritional value, which are raw materials for processing dishes typical of Ninh Thuan land.

Cuisine combined with tourism has created a rich and unique tourism product system from farming, harvesting, processing to experience... contributing to improving the value chain of agricultural - forestry - fishery production, creating jobs, increasing income for workers, building and developing Ninh Thuan culinary brand, contributing to attracting tourists to Ninh Thuan.
