Many people who use electricity want to fix it to ensure safety in agricultural production, but hesitate to do so because they are afraid of being electrocuted. Over time, the electric poles and wires here have become increasingly piled up and messy.
According to our observation on March 26, 2025, the above mentioned power line is located next to a red dirt road in the field, in an agricultural area growing custard apple trees. With only about 120m of power line, there are dozens of large and small, high and low, square and round, crooked power poles. Some old power poles tend to fall onto the road.
The electric wires were old and new, straight and loose, with many joints roughly wrapped with insulating tape, exposing the core. There were even many sections of electric wires that touched the ground or were interwoven in the grass on the side of the road, while the sprinklers used to water the custard apples caused wetness and puddles in those places, posing a high risk of electrical accidents.
Mr. Mai Van Suu, a resident whose custard apple garden is adjacent to the power line, said that more than 20 years ago, when he transferred this land, there was already a row of electric poles at the edge of the land adjacent to the road. Later, as more and more people used electricity to pump water to irrigate the custard apples, more electric wires and poles were created. With the tangled state of electric wires, over time they have degraded and are no longer safe. Recently, an electrical short circuit caused a fire.
Mr. Suu continued, after the above incident, some households with conditions discussed and agreed to pool money to install new wires and higher poles to serve production. Meanwhile, many other people still wanted to replace the wires and make the poles neater to ensure safety but did not dare to do so.
The reason, according to Mr. Suu, is that people are afraid of being electrocuted because they do not have the expertise and specialized equipment to do the job. On the other hand, people are also worried about installing such a large number of poles and wires without technical guarantees, which can easily lead to problems later. Therefore, these people really hope that Tan Chau Electricity will support them in terms of technology and electrical safety.
Regarding this issue, a representative of Tan Chau Power Company said that through checking the current status of the power grid in question, this is the area of 75kVA Tan Trung 13 transformer station, pillar 254/23, 12.7kV branch Tan Trung 2, line 477TH, low voltage line belonging to Power Company assets to pillar 254/23/1, line 477TH.
The low-voltage line section located behind the meter of customers in the above-mentioned area, invested by local people to serve irrigation; currently, the wires are sagging low, have many joints, many wires have peeled insulation, are not safe, and are not at the required height.
Tan Chau Electricity recommends that customers using electricity in the above area must quickly repair the line behind the meter to ensure safety before April 30, 2025, to prevent the risk of electrical incidents for people.
The repaired low-voltage line must comply with relevant regulations on rural electrical engineering, low-voltage electrical engineering standards, electrical safety corridors, etc. If customers do not repair the low-voltage line on their property according to electrical safety regulations, Tan Chau Power Company will stop supplying electricity to customers according to the provisions of law.
According to statistics from Tan Chau District Electricity, there are currently 34 customers using electricity on this low-voltage line. Mr. Nguyen Duy Tan, Deputy Head of the Planning and Technical Department (Tan Chau Electricity) said that households should proactively contact Tan Chau Electricity to present their wishes for support, in order to have a direction for handling according to regulations.
