Quang Ngai determined to hand over the Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon expressway site before June 30

To achieve the goal of handing over 100% of the construction site of the Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon expressway before June 30, 2024, local leaders have closely followed the construction site to mobilize and support people to demolish their houses.

Quang Ngai province is determined to hand over 100% of clean land for construction of Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon expressway.

People demolish houses and hand over land

Recently, Tu Nghia district authorities have regularly gone to the scene to continue propaganda and mobilization, along with issuing decisions on forced eviction and land recovery.

Due to the determination of the authorities at all levels of Tu Nghia district, the residents understood the importance of the project, so many people proactively demolished their houses and handed over the land before the enforcement force intervened.

It was noted that at the intersection of Provincial Road 623B, dozens of households were busy dismantling their houses and moving their belongings to other places to hand over the land. It seems that the urgency of the Tu Nghia district authorities and their initial drastic involvement have created consensus.

Along the roads, people and households are seen hiring trucks and trailers to transport their dismantled assets. Excavators, loaders and many other mechanical equipment from contractors are also mobilized to support people in need.

After many campaigns, households proactively demolished their houses and handed over the land.

Accordingly, in early June 2024, the People's Committee of Tu Nghia district launched a 30-day, night-time peak period to clear the North-South expressway (the section passing through the locality), with the determination to clear the "bottleneck" of the site before the deadline.

Up to now, Tu Nghia district has convinced 35/38 households to receive compensation, demolish their houses and hand over the land.

Currently, in the entire Tu Nghia area, there are only 3 households (total area of 0.16 ha/5 plots of 7 houses) that have not agreed to compensation. Therefore, the locality is continuing to be mobilized and persuaded.

Determined to hand over clean site before June 30

Chairman of Tu Nghia District People's Committee Nguyen Dang Vinh said that the district government's viewpoint is to combine propaganda, explanation and dialogue so that people can understand and agree. Most of the cases where people are demolishing their houses are under the decision of forced eviction or construction protection. In addition, the district also established a team to help people build temporary houses, demolish houses, and move assets to resettlement areas.

According to Mr. Nguyen Dang Vinh, up to now, most households have proactively cleared and relocated to hand over the site, creating a major turning point. However, there are still many cases of disagreement and the district has issued decisions to enforce or protect the construction.

Similarly, in Nghia Hanh and Mo Duc districts and Duc Pho town, government leaders and all levels of sectors and organizations are also working together to clear the remaining land to hand over 100% of the cleared land before June 30.

Previously, at the end of May 2024, at the working session of the Provincial Party Standing Committee with the Party Committee of the Provincial People's Committee, Chairman of Tu Nghia District People's Committee Nguyen Dang Vinh reported that the whole district still had 38 households with more than 60 houses.

Here, Secretary of the Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee Bui Thi Quynh Van requested that the completion of compensation and site clearance for the Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon expressway before June 30 is an important political task and also a political commitment, demonstrating the province's prestige and responsibility to the Central Government.
