Quang Ninh organizes the Congress of Ethnic Minorities

The 4th Congress of Ethnic Minorities of Quang Ninh Province in 2024 took place on the morning of November 9 in Ha Long City, representing the will and aspirations of over 162,000 ethnic minorities in the area.

With the theme "Ethnic groups unite, innovate, promote advantages, potentials, integrate and develop sustainably", on the morning of November 9, in Ha Long City, the 4th Quang Ninh Province Ethnic Minority Delegation (DTTS) 2024 officially opened.

The Congress took place on the morning of November 9. Before that, a preparatory session was held on the afternoon of November 8 and approved the content of the Consultation to elect the Presidium and Secretary of the Congress.

Speaking at the opening of the Congress, Vice Chairman of the Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee Nghiem Xuan Cuong said that Quang Ninh is the northeasternmost province of Vietnam, considered a miniature Vietnam with a strategic location in politics, economy, and an important and vibrant trade gateway between Vietnam and ASEAN.

Quang Ninh has the world natural wonder heritage Ha Long Bay and a rich network of historical relics, the largest coal reserves in Southeast Asia, is the place where the first industry was formed and is the cradle of the Vietnamese working class...

Vice Chairman of Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee Nghiem Xuan Cuong delivered the opening speech at the congress.

In recent years, Quang Ninh has been known as one of the leading localities in terms of development speed and completion of synchronous and modern infrastructure and socio-economic infrastructure. The province has completed the new rural construction program at all three levels and reached the finish line 3 years ahead of schedule of the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction for the period 2021-2025.

Since the 3rd National Congress of Ethnic Minorities (2019) up to now, Quang Ninh province has always seriously and effectively implemented the Party and State's policies and guidelines on ethnic work.

The Party Committee, government and political system always pay attention to, value and create the best favorable conditions for ethnic minorities to promote their role in socio-economic development, improve the quality of life and firmly build national solidarity.

Transport infrastructure in rural and mountainous areas in Quang Ninh is being invested synchronously and practically to improve the material and spiritual life of ethnic minority people.

The 4th Congress of Ethnic Minorities in Quang Ninh Province is an important political event for ethnic minorities in the province, aiming to continue affirming the steadfast and consistent policy of our Party and State on ethnic affairs and great national unity.

At the same time, it recognizes the great contributions of ethnic minorities in the cause of socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security, building the Party and political system, and building Quang Ninh to become increasingly rich, beautiful, modern and civilized.

The Congress is also a forum for exchange, discussion, creating consensus and strong belief of ethnic minorities in Quang Ninh province in the leadership of the Party and State.

On this occasion, the Congress also honored, commended and rewarded outstanding collectives and individuals among ethnic minorities in the past 5 years in various fields; encouraged and aroused national pride, the will to be self-reliant, and promoted the strength of great national unity for the goal of "Rich people, strong country, democratic, equitable and civilized society".
