Quang Ngai: Rescue of fishermen drifting at sea

A fishing boat of fishermen from Ly Son island, while working at sea, discovered a fisherman drifting at sea in poor health.

At around 6:00 p.m. on August 24, fishing boat QNg-96869 TS of captain Bui Van Dat (Ly Son district, Quang Ngai) was fishing at sea, about 10 nautical miles southeast of Ly Son island, when it discovered a fisherman drifting at sea.

Immediately, Mr. Dat organized a rescue and reported to An Vinh Border Control Station (Ly Son Border Guard Station).

The border guards instructed the crew of Mr. Dat's fishing boat to organize rescue and first aid. Then, the victim was transferred to Mr. Le Van Thuan's fishing boat QNg-66403TS (Ly Son district) and brought to shore.

As soon as they reached the shore, the border guards of Ly Son island district provided first aid and took the victim to the Ly Son District Military-Civilian Medical Center.

The fisherman in distress was Mr. Dang Thanh Vuong (Nghia An commune, Quang Ngai city), a crew member on the fishing boat QNg-97407 TS owned and captained by Mr. Tran Van Dan (Tan My village, Nghia An commune, Quang Ngai city).

Mr. Vuong's health is now stable.
