Russia and China have held defense and military talks to strengthen ties, Russia's defense minister said on October 15, as Moscow and Beijing cement their "unlimited" partnership.
"Yesterday we had very meaningful talks with the Minister of Defense of the People's Republic of China and we saw that we have common views, assessments and understanding of the situation and what we need to do together," Beloussov said.

At a meeting with Russian Defense Minister Andrey Belousov in Beijing, Zhang Youxia, vice chairman of China's Central Military Commission, said Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping assured that relations between the two countries have reached their highest level in history.
"In recent years, China-Russia relations have reached a historic high and continue to develop at a healthy and steady pace, largely thanks to the strategic leadership and personal engagement of Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin," he said.
Mr. Belousov said that the Russian and Chinese defense ministries are united in their assessment of global processes and have a common understanding of what needs to be done in the current situation. He noted that thanks to the efforts of the leaders of the two countries - Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin, Russia and China have built a strategic partnership.
"Our task is to strengthen and develop it," the Russian Defense Minister stressed.
Minister Belousov stressed that today "there will be productive work and important decisions will be made". He also said that this year Russia and China celebrate the 75th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations, and next year will mark the 80th anniversary of the joint victory over fascism.
"Taking the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries as a new starting point, we are willing to work with Russia to continuously consolidate and develop... China-Russia relations. We hope that the two sides will jointly implement the important consensus reached by heads of state, maintain close high-level exchanges, deepen and expand military relations between the two countries, and safeguard their own interests in national sovereignty, security and development," Zhang said.
Mr. Truong also pointed out that the two sides "will work together to maintain international cooperation, peace and regional stability".
