PNJ leads sustainable development enterprises in 2023

BTO-With a commitment to sustainable development, PNJ surpasses hundreds of businesses, continuing to lead the top 5 and top 10. This affirms its position as a pioneering business, adding a "golden" mark in the 35-year journey of sustainable development.

Take the lead

The announcement ceremony of sustainable enterprises in Vietnam in 2023 organized by the Vietnam Confederation of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) with the core being the Vietnam Business Council for Sustainable Development (VBCSD) took place in Hanoi on December 13, with the coordination of the Central Economic Committee, the Ministry of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.

Surpassing hundreds of businesses, PNJ marked 8 consecutive years in the Top 10 and continued to lead the Top 10 businesses in the trade - service sector in the 100 Sustainable Development Enterprises 2023. At the same time, PNJ was also honored in the Top 5 "Pioneering Enterprises in Building Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Values".

To achieve this noble recognition, PNJ not only meets the CSI Index, but also pioneers in upgrading in implementing sustainable development towards ESG (Environment - Society - Governance) implementation, standardizing according to international standards. In particular, "diversity, equity and harmony" is identified as one of the 12 key areas of ESG practice at PNJ. And PNJ creates a diverse, equitable and harmonious environment in the enterprise by listening, respecting differences, empowering responsibility, encouraging opportunities and recognizing them appropriately. Notably, this year, PNJ was also honored in the Top 5 category "Pioneering enterprises in building diverse, equitable and inclusive values". This is one of the new thematic categories implemented in 2023.

Continue the development journey

Ms. Cao Thi Ngoc Dung - Chairwoman of the Board of Directors (BOD) of PNJ said: “We are very proud to mark 8 consecutive years in the top sustainable development enterprises in Vietnam. For a long time, PNJ has had a consistent philosophy of putting the interests of society and the interests of customers in the interests of the enterprise. All actions of PNJ are oriented towards sustainable development. PNJ is a pioneer enterprise in establishing an ESG Committee with a permanent member of the Board of Directors”.

According to Ms. Dung, in the management system, we do not separate but integrate all 3 ESG factors. The path to sustainable development cannot be done in a day, we are committed to implementing the 17 sustainable development goals of the world. PNJ also follows these standards and will improve each year. PNJ aims for sustainable development with ESG as an evaluation index, how to make these 3 pillars stronger and stronger."

This title not only marks another "golden" milestone in PNJ's 35-year journey of sustainable development and social service, but also continues to affirm its position as a pioneering enterprise, contributing to the sustainable development of the Vietnamese business community.

In the future, PNJ will continue to pursue the pioneering journey of building and implementing a culture of "Diversity, Fairness and Harmony" in the enterprise. At the same time, responsible business will always be the criterion that PNJ considers as a compass in the development journey, the CSI index will continue to be the basis for assessing the level of sustainable development and applied in the long term.
