Coordinate to firmly protect the border area

Quang Ninh has nearly 119 km of land border and 191 km of sea border with China. The militia and self-defense forces (DQTV) in border localities play an important role in coordinating and joining forces to firmly protect the security and sovereignty of the country's borders.

The Militia and Self-Defense Force is a local force, closely attached to and clearly understands the characteristics of life in residential areas and grassroots units, especially early detection of arising problems to promptly report and advise the Party Committee, government, and Military Command (CHQS) at the commune level to direct and handle promptly, not to be passive or surprised. Each Militia and Self-Defense Force soldier also performs well the task of propagating and mobilizing people to raise vigilance, recognize and fight against all types of crimes. Therefore, in grassroots localities in border areas, the Militia and Self-Defense Force plays an indispensable role, has been actively contributing to building a people's security posture, associated with a solid national defense.

Performing well the local defense and military work is the top condition, a solid foundation for Mong Cai City to achieve comprehensive economic and social growth. In particular, building a strong militia force, suitable to the characteristics of a border city, plays an important role. The City Military Command directs the military system of communes and wards to regularly review, register and manage citizens of age to join the militia force according to the law. The quality of soldiers is improved thanks to comprehensive training, both in combat skills, force coordination and raising political awareness, and solid ideology. Up to now, the city has built 44 militia bases, equivalent to 1.5% of the population in the area; 100% of border communes and wards have 1-2 mobile militia platoons, with the number of soldiers meeting the regulations, with a reasonable structure.

The militia and self-defense forces of border communes and wards such as Hai Hoa, Tra Co, Ka Long... are all core members in coordinated activities to patrol and control border markers, trails, and openings. Through that, they have discovered and provided the border guards and police with many important reports serving the task of managing and protecting border security and sovereignty. The practical and effective work of the militia and self-defense forces has left a deep impression on the people and has been highly appreciated by the Party Committee and the government.

Over the years, Binh Lieu district has continuously consolidated its strong militia force. Every year, the District Military Command strictly implements the registration and management of citizens of military age. In particular, it coordinates with local agencies, departments, branches and organizations to promote propaganda and mobilization so that people are clearly aware of their obligations, responsibilities, as well as their rights, benefits and policies when participating in the militia. Thanks to that, this force has been continuously consolidated, developed, ensuring military numbers, enhancing combat readiness and coordinating situation handling.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, coordination was carried out closely and effectively, helping to prevent all risks of disease entering the border and maintaining a safe area. Now that the whole society has returned to a new normal state, the Militia and Self-Defense Forces continue to be one of the important forces when deploying patrol plans, controlling trails and openings to prevent illegal entry and exit, and smuggling of goods across the border.

Thanks to the spirit of enthusiasm and responsibility, always ready to be present, receive and complete well the assigned tasks, the border militia force has clearly affirmed its important role and position; contributing to building the all-people border defense posture, protecting the Fatherland's fence to be truly solid, stable and developed.

In recent years, Quang Ninh province has also focused on building mobile militia, combat militia, and maritime militia, developing self-defense forces in various types of enterprises and permanent militia in key areas, borders, and coastal areas.

In particular, the Quang Ninh Provincial Military Command has also directed the Binh Lieu District Military Command and Mong Cai City Military Command to strictly maintain the combat readiness of the standing militia squad, regularly coordinate with the Police, Border Guard and other functional forces in patrolling and protecting, firmly grasping the situation of the border and landmarks, ensuring political security and social order and safety in the area.
