Lieutenant General Trinh Dinh Thach - Political Commissar of Military Region 5 chaired the meeting and worked with the delegation. Attending the meeting were Comrade Luong Nguyen Minh Triet - Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Quang Nam Provincial Party Committee; Tran Xuan Vinh - Vice Chairman of the Quang Nam Provincial People's Council, along with representatives of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and leaders of Da Nang City.

At the meeting, Lieutenant General Trinh Dinh Thach - Political Commissar of Military Region 5, on behalf of the Command, reported on the results in implementing military and defense tasks in 2024 and preparations for the Lunar New Year.

Regarding Tet care for officers and soldiers, in addition to the standards of the Ministry of National Defense, Military Region 5, agencies, units and localities support Tet security, additional food expenses and other activities with a total amount of 62.3 billion VND.

The Military Region promptly transferred 140 gifts from the President to visit wounded soldiers and relatives of martyrs working in the Army. Transferred 2,414 gifts worth more than 3.1 billion VND from the Ministry of National Defense to visit senior military officers, centers for caring for meritorious people, officers with serious illnesses; officers, soldiers, defense workers...

Agencies and units of the entire Military Region allocated funds to visit policy families with a total amount of more than 5.5 billion VND; decorated Tet and presented fruit trays with a total amount of more than 4.1 billion VND... Leaders of Military Region 5 also informed about the work of merging, streamlining the organization and apparatus; and preparations for party congresses at all levels.

After listening to the report of the leaders of Military Region 5, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh congratulated and commended the achievements and results that officers and soldiers of Military Region 5 have achieved in carrying out military and defense tasks in 2024. Especially in training, exercises, force building, defense diplomacy, caring for the lives of officers and soldiers, joining hands to implement social security...

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh also informed the generals and key officials of the Military Region about the major features and achievements of the whole country in 2024 and the strategic orientations and tasks set by the Party and Government in 2025 and the coming years. Especially the important targets and solutions to realize the goal of making Vietnam a developed country by 2045.

Emphasizing that Military Region 5 has an important strategic position, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh requested that Military Region 5 continue to perform well its advisory function with the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense in planning and implementing military and defense tasks associated with economic, cultural and social development of each locality.
