DTO - Implementing the National Program on High-Tech Development in Dong Thap province for the period 2021 - 2025, with a vision to 2030, the province has implemented many effective models in the agricultural sector. This is a premise for the province to continue developing high-tech agricultural production, developing agriculture in the direction of safety, green agriculture, organic agriculture, serving exports, creating agricultural product brands, enhancing the value of the industry, contributing to increasing income for people...

The Center for Agricultural Services, Management of Irrigation Works and Rural Clean Water signed a contract with the An Giang Agricultural Extension Center to implement a rice production model (MH) to serve the development of raw material areas in the Mekong Delta (MD) (year 3). MH synchronously applies advanced farming technical solutions to improve rice production efficiency, form a production and consumption linkage chain, save labor, reduce production losses, improve production efficiency, increase income for people; implement a high-quality, low-emission rice production process...

MH was implemented in Tan Cong Sinh commune, Tam Nong district with a scale of 50ha/25 participating households (members of Tan Hung Hoi Quan), producing DS1 rice variety in association with Vietnam Rice Company Limited (Vinarice). Accordingly, the average yield in MH reached 6.5 tons/ha, 0.5 tons/ha higher than the control; the average total production cost in MH was 30.1 million VND/ha, 2.6 million VND/ha lower than the control field (32.7 million VND/ha); the production cost in MH was 4,624 VND/kg, 826 VND/kg lower than outside MH (5,450 VND/kg); the profit in MH reached 27.1 million VND/ha, 7 million VND/ha higher than outside MH (20.1 million VND); the average yield in MH reached 6.5 tons/ha, 0.5 tons/ha higher than the control.

The Center for Agricultural Services, Management of Irrigation Works and Rural Clean Water signed a contract with the Ben Tre Agricultural Extension and Agricultural Services Consulting Center to implement the intensive mango cultivation project in the direction of VietGAP to serve the development of raw material areas associated with consumption linkage in the Mekong Delta (year 3). The project was implemented in My Xuong commune, Cao Lanh district with a scale of 15 hectares/23 participating households. Accordingly, the average total production cost in the project was 151.6 million VND/ha, 3.1 million VND/ha lower than outside the project (148.5 million VND/ha); the production cost in the project was 12,948 VND/kg, 2,330 VND/kg lower than outside the project (15,278 VND/kg); the profit in the project reached 60.9 million VND/ha, 22 million VND/ha higher than outside the project (38.9 million VND); Average yield in MH is 7 tons/ha, 0.7 tons/ha higher than outside MH (6.3 tons/ha).

MH applies synchronous technical measures in intensive production according to VietGAP standards, aiming to improve productivity and product quality, to serve domestic consumption and export, contributing to enhancing brand, value, and economic efficiency; forming links in production, consumption, and granting growing area codes, contributing to changing farmers' awareness and thinking, towards producing quality products. Thereby, creating trust from consumers, increasing competitiveness, stabilizing prices, helping producers increase income, and building brands for agricultural products of the province.

MH pilots high-quality and low-emission rice cultivation associated with green growth in Thap Muoi district (Dong Thap province) with a scale of 50 hectares/24 participating farming households in Hamlet 4 field, Lang Bien commune, belonging to Thang Loi Agricultural Service Cooperative in 3 crops, starting from the autumn-winter crop of 2024. MH synchronously applies solutions according to the technical process of producing high-quality and low-emission rice in the Mekong Delta region issued by the Department of Crop Production; applies sustainable farming processes from capital sources for developing rice-growing land according to Decree 35/2015/ND-CP.

In 2024, 26 MHs will be deployed on a total area of 5,306 hectares to support rice growers in applying new varieties, technical advances, and technologies in rice production; supporting production linkages, product consumption, etc. The results show that the models help reduce input production costs, increase economic efficiency for farmers, improve rice quality, reduce pesticide costs, and contribute to protecting the environment and the health of producers. Thereby, creating a positive signal and a premise for expanding MHs in the coming time in areas registered to participate in the implementation of the "Project for sustainable development of 1 million hectares of high-quality and low-emission rice cultivation associated with green growth in the Mekong Delta region by 2030" in Dong Thap province.

In Lap Vo and Lai Vung districts, high-tech models are applied to flower and ornamental plant production such as: using tissue-cultured seedlings (disease-free seedlings, uniform quality), using greenhouses and sprinkler irrigation systems. Specifically, expanding the model of producing ornamental leaves associated with connecting product consumption (introducing to flower and ornamental plant producers the red-leaf ornamental plant, which is an indoor ornamental plant with high economic value and can be grown all year round); expanding the model of producing mini chrysanthemums associated with connecting product consumption (introducing to flower and ornamental plant producers the mini chrysanthemum variety, diverse in color and easy to care for, suitable for Tet flower production); expanding the model of producing colored raspberry chrysanthemums associated with connecting product consumption; expanding the model of producing gerbera daisies in greenhouses associated with connecting product consumption...
