In recent years, Thanh Hoa has made many strides in developing a commercial service system in tourist areas, contributing to improving the tourist experience and boosting the local economy. Thanks to reasonable investment strategies, many tourist destinations in the province not only attract more and more tourists but also record higher spending from them, creating conditions for the sustainable development of the tourism industry.
Many cultural events, festivals and fairs will be held in Sam Son City this year to attract visitors.
One of the typical examples is that, in the past, Sam Son tourism mainly revolved around swimming and enjoying seafood, but in recent years, there has been a "transformation" when focusing more on commercial and entertainment services. The formation of walking streets, Sam Son night market, and coastal entertainment complexes have helped this area become more bustling, especially in the evening. According to statistics from the People's Committee of Sam Son City, after expanding the commercial service system, the number of visitors returning to Sam Son has tended to increase, and revenue from non-accommodation services has also had impressive growth.
Currently, Sam Son is preparing for the 2025 summer tourist season - the time to welcome the largest number of visitors of the year. Many food and entertainment service establishments have begun to upgrade their facilities and expand their scale to better serve the needs of tourists. Walking streets and night markets are also expected to have many new stalls with more diverse products. According to Ms. Tran Thi Mai, owner of Hong Thanh seafood restaurant in Sam Son beach area: "Summer is the best time for business, this year the city also has many plans to organize cultural events and festivals to attract visitors. If the commercial service system is invested more strongly, visitors will definitely have a better experience and stay longer."
Not only in Sam Son, some other tourist areas in Thanh Hoa are also focusing on investing in commercial service systems to meet the increasing needs of tourists. A typical example is Pu Luong eco-tourism area - which was previously mainly developed according to the homestay and trekking model, but recently has appeared many attractive services such as shops selling traditional handicrafts, weekend tourist markets, tours to experience Thai ethnic culture... These innovations not only help improve service quality, increase revenue for the tourism industry but also create more jobs for local people. Ms. Ha Thi Lan, owner of a brocade production facility in Pu Luong, shared: "Previously, we only weaved fabrics for daily use, but since many tourists have visited, we have opened a small shop to introduce products, and organize weaving experiences for tourists. This not only helps preserve the traditional profession but also brings a more stable income for the family".
It can be seen that when invested in the right direction, the commercial service system not only enhances the tourism experience but also brings about clear economic efficiency. However, besides the successes, Thanh Hoa still has a lot of room to continue to develop more strongly in this field. Currently, many other tourist areas in the province, such as Hai Tien (Hoang Hoa), Hai Hoa (Nghi Son town), Cam Luong sacred fish stream (Cam Thuy) or spiritual tourist destinations such as Song temple (Bim Son), Phu Na (Nhu Thanh), Lam Kinh historical relic site (Tho Xuan), Chin Gian temple (Nhu Xuan) ... have not yet fully exploited the potential of commercial services. Therefore, in order to create a unique attraction for tourist areas, departments, branches and localities need to develop a master and detailed plan to develop the market, diversify tourism products associated with preserving and promoting the value of relics and culture ...
In addition, improving the quality of culinary services is also an important factor. Thanh Hoa has a rich culinary culture with many specialties such as nem chua, banh gai, banh rang bua, fresh seafood... but currently the culinary business models are still mainly small-scale, lacking uniformity and not paying attention to branding. If there are more professional restaurant chains, culinary neighborhoods with strong local imprints, it will certainly attract tourists to spend more.
In general, investing in commercial service systems in tourist areas not only helps to raise the level of Thanh Hoa tourism but also plays an important role in developing the local economy. When commercial services are expanded and upgraded, tourists will have richer experiences, longer stays and higher spending. This is the key to Thanh Hoa not only being a beautiful destination but also an attractive destination in terms of services, contributing to enhancing the province's tourism position on the map of Vietnam.
