Launching the contest "Beautiful photos of Yen Bai tourism" in 2024

In order to promote the beauty of nature, landscape, people, and unique cultural features of the ethnic groups of Yen Bai province to domestic and international friends, on the morning of May 11, the Yen Bai Provincial Literature and Arts Association launched the 2024 art photography contest with the theme "Beautiful photos of Yen Bai tourism".

Photographer Ho Sy Minh - Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, Head of the Theory and Criticism Department, Editor-in-Chief of Photography and Life Magazine presented the Decision to sponsor the Yen Bai Provincial Art Photography Contest 2024 "Beautiful photos of Yen Bai tourism" to the Provincial Literature and Arts Association.

The contest is open to professional and amateur photographers, Vietnamese citizens at home and abroad, and foreigners working and living in Vietnam.

The photos participating in the contest must be taken at all locations and landmarks in Yen Bai province, in color or black and white, including single photos and photo series. The photos participating in the contest must not have won any awards or been exhibited at the provincial level or higher.

Creation time starts from January 1, 2023. Submission time is from the launch date to September 30, 2024.

The organizers do not accept composite photos that change the content and nature of the event in the photo.

Contest photos must be in digital format, jpg file format. The longest dimension of the photo must be at least 3,000px, and the capacity must not exceed 6Mb. Each author is allowed to submit a maximum of 10 works to the contest.

The award structure includes: 1 First Prize, 2 Second Prizes, 3 Third Prizes and 5 Encouragement Prizes. Authors whose works win prizes in the contest will be awarded a certificate from the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, and will be considered for admission to the Association according to the regulations of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists.

Immediately after launching the 2024 art photography contest, the Provincial Literature and Arts Association organized training and exchange of photography skills for authors and members under the guidance and experience exchange of experienced Central photographers.

Authors, members of the Yen Bai Photography Association, and photography enthusiasts listened to Photographer Vu Quoc Khanh - former President of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists share about how to apply photography techniques to their works to create beautiful, high-quality photos at the training session.

This is an opportunity for authors, members of the Yen Bai Photography Association, and photography enthusiasts to improve their skills, especially in artistic photography, through lectures on how to discover themes in composition, how to express content in artistic photography, photo composition in contemporary photography, how to process advanced artistic photos, etc. Thereby, contributing to improving the quality of photographic works in general, photographic works participating in photography contests in particular, and the "Yen Bai Tourism Beautiful Photos" contest in 2024 to achieve high quality.
